About

My name is Cami Claar and I’m a Hunter/Jumper instructor in Southern California working primarily out of Chino, CA. I am very passionate about what I do! I am always eager to learn more and better myself as both a rider and instructor! I believe there is always more to learn and everyday is an opportunity for growth! We create well-rounded students who learn both how to best care for and understand their horses, as well as take their skills to the next level! Whether your goal is to win in the show-ring or better yourself in your riding/ horsemanship, we are here to help! We have a handful of well-schooled lesson horses ready to partner with you or your child, or bring your own horse in and we’ll work with both of you together! We specialize in English Equitation, Hunters, and Jumpers.

I personally have trained with many renowned Hunter/Jumper and Dressage trainers leveling from schooling to Grand Prix trainers! I have been teaching and training since 2018 and still improving my training techniques and knowledge every chance I get! I love to see students accomplishing their goals, achieving things they never knew were possible! I also love giving students a better understanding of their horses, helping them read their body language and small ways of communicating.

We believe every student is different, and every person learns best in their own way, at their own pace. Our training program is specialized to each individual, with lessons individually tailored to fit each student and where they are in their equestrian journey.

    Frequently asked questions

New students get one on one attention with the trainer to ensure the best learning environment and safety.  You learn at your own pace, and we work with you to set goals for your riding!

I have worked with horses for over almost 15 years.  I spent a number of years in the United States Pony Clubs, I have attended rallies, shows, events, overnight stays, etc.  I have trained and competed in a variety of disciplines including Show Jumping, Hunter/Jumpers, English Equitation, Hunter Hack, Drill Team, Western, Barrel Racing, Gymkhana, Dressage, and more!  I have been in private horseback riding lessons for the majority of my life, and now i feel that it is time for me to give back and share my passion with others!

All new students must begin in private lessons which range from $25-$45 depending on the length of the lesson.

Once students reach a certain skill level with their riding, they may choose to take our Group Lesson Riding Test to qualify to join any of our group lesson sessions, which vary from $15-$30 per person, depending on the length of the lesson.

I actually started teaching because a little girl that I bought a horse from wanted lessons.  I had considered giving lessons for a long time, but i never really had the horses for it.  So I worked hard and saved up enough money to buy my first real lesson horse so i could really get my lessons up and running.  I have been teaching since approximately October 2018, and i have loved every minute of it!

I have worked with students of a variety of ages, ranging 6 years old to 60 years old.  I have taught in a vatiety of disciplines including Show Jumping, Barrel Racing, Gymkhanas, Introduction to Dressage, Kids with no experience, kids who have been riding for years, and even older adults who want to try something new!  I work with kids and their horses, or with students who need a horse to learn on, as I have some wonderful lesson horses ready to teach!

This last year was the first season I took some of my students out to compete in their first ever shows.  It is such an incredible feeling of pride when you watch your students grow from timid little beginners, to future champions who ride their hearts out in the show ring.  My students did so amazing, and everyone who rode placed in almost every event they competed in!  It was a very proud season for me as a trainer to see them give it their all out there in the show ring!

Find someone who clicks for you!  Whether its me, or another trainer, you want to find someone who makes YOU feel comfortable.

Ask yourself if you are willing to get down and dirty with the horses.  Learning to ride horses is a lot like learning to speak another language that, for the most part, does not use actual words.  You need to learn to communicate to your horse in a way that they understand.  This means sometimes being willing to take the risk of falling off.  That is just part of learning to ride.  Ask anyone who has ridden for any considerable amount of time.  Everyone falls off at some time or other.  Its learning to brush it off and get back on that grows us as riders.
