What is your typical process for working with a new student?
With a new student, I would want to get to know the student better first with a short interview. Knowing how long the student has been playing, his/her skill level now and what his/her goal is, we can set a learning plan to achieve his/her goals.
Following the interview, I would do an assessment of the students skills by observing the students hit some shots on both full swing, short game and putting. If time and facility permits, I would take the new student to play a hole on the course so that I can see how he/she plays the golf course.
With the assessment, I will point out some of the key areas the student needs to work on in order to reach his/her goal. We will then discuss the action plan to work towards to improving each key area and prioritize the areas to work on first.
We will then start working on the first key area on the priority list.
