Hi I’m Matt. I was a 3-year varsity starter at Servite High School and played 2 years of Division 1 collegiate baseball at Purdue University. I specialize in teaching infield but also know enough about the game to teach outfielders as well if needed. I transferred home to CSUF to finish my civil engineering degree and to also be home with family before joining the Army. Also currently an Army ROTC cadet. Geoff F. says, "Coach Deep did an excellent job teaching my 11 now 12 year son fundamental football skills. He focused on specific football routines - squats, high knees, lunges, etc.. My sons main focus was wide receiver. Coach performed specific hand eye coordination, catching, route running drills. Over a year of training my son went from having a hard time catching a football to catching almost anything thrown his way greatly increasing his confidence. I look forward to using him again in the near future." Read more

Gerardo S. says, "Since the Junior Velocity pitching camp that my son Noah attended I saw that PBA knows how to help the young athlete unlock their greatest potential. My son has had 4 private pitching lessons and coach Felix and coach Lorenzo have helped him with his mechanics and velocity. We also appreciate that they are very flexible and work to fit in lessons that fit our tight schedule. They can pinpoint the areas of need and individualize a plan to help each player. At Perez Baseball Academy they know how to make players better and more effective. Feedback is provided and progress is monitored so we can track development and see the growth that was made. We are very satisfied with the level of instruction and knowledge that is given with every lesson." Read more

Your Baseball Training questions, answered

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Lessons.

How much do private baseball lessons cost?

Private baseball lessons cost $50 to $75 per 30-minute lesson and $80 to $140 per 1-hour lesson. The price depends on your location, the instructor's experience and reputation, the student's age, and whether the lesson includes extras like a video analysis of the player's performance.

Many coaches offer lower prices per lesson if you purchase a package that includes 6 or 10 lessons. The average package prices are:

  • 6 pack of 30-minute lessons: $270 – $420
  • 6 pack of 1-hour lessons: $450 – $720
  • 10 pack of 30-minute lessons: $400 – $600
  • 10 pack of 1-hour lessons: $700 – $1,100

Are private baseball lessons worth it?

Private baseball lessons may be worth it if your child currently plays the sport, loves it, and has expressed an interest in improving their skills and performance. Private lessons can help your child advance their skills, develop good habits, and avoid forming bad habits.

Motivation and a drive to improve are key factors in whether or not the lessons will actually help your child. It's important for your child to practice in between private lessons.

Children who receive private baseball lessons are usually more likely to advance to playing at higher levels than children who only receive group coaching during regular team practice. However private lessons don't guarantee your child will play collegiate or professional baseball.

What is the difference between private and semi-private baseball lessons?

In a private baseball lesson, the athlete trains one-on-one with an instructor who tailors the lesson specifically to their needs and skill level. In a semi-private lesson, two athletes work together with one instructor. Semi-private lessons, also called partner lessons, typically cost 10% to 20% less than private lessons. However, because the trainer's attention is divided between the two athletes, the athletes don't get the same level of individualized instruction as they would in a private lesson.

What age should you start pitching lessons?

Baseball instructors generally recommend that children start pitching lessons at around 8 to 12 years old, though there are no age requirements or exact rules. Learning fundamental pitching skills early on can help your child avoid developing bad habits that will be difficult for them to break later.

However, your child should not start taking pitching lessons until they are comfortable throwing the ball as well as catching the ball one-handed.

Coach Deep did a great job of working with my 9 year old on QB skills as well as general fitness training and good athlete discipline and habits. His correction to my son’s deep pass throwing mechanics definitely made a noticeable difference this season for our team resulting in more touchdowns and less interceptions. He has and teaches a great work ethic that goes beyond just the sport.

I can’t say enough about Coach Dan’s knowledge and skills as a hitting coach. My daughter saw immediate results after one lesson and even made her first All Star team this season. He was able to use his knowledge and technology to quickly identify the deficiency’s in her swing and start correcting them. His coaching style is very patient and my daughter really enjoys working with him.

Me, personally, TJ is the player that he is because of your coaching, patience and understanding of the type of player my kid is ❤️
