What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Getting to Know the students wants, needs and understanding of the swing and game

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

i have been an instructor for 8 years and playing golf for 20 years. I am a level 2 PGA

How did you get started teaching?

I got started teaching while working at California Country Club. I was helping with a summer junior program and loved growing the game! I quickly developed a passion for sharing my knowledge of the golf swing with others and watching them succeed

What types of students have you worked with?

I have work with juniors from age 5 to 17

Junior development league and ajga junior players

division 1 and 2 college athletes

seniors with mobility issues

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Helping my student who previously did not make her golf team join the varsity team this year. Watched her work hard for 8 months and it was an honor to wath it pay off.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Dont be afraid to get some lessons it helps trust me. it always helps to have a second set of eyes to fine tune the swing i have witnessed big changes from something as simple as fixing posture.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Be realistic on expectations and goals. one 6 lesson series will not make you a scratch golfer, so make sure to have your coach look at the foundation of your swing (grip, set-up, posture) a lot of students and instructors dont spend enough time on the foundation.
