I met Ron through work and we have played several times over the years. He has always been able to quickly help me straighten out my swing while on the course or on the range with a quick fix that almost always gets the desired result. he has lowered my score dramatically and more importantly made my game more consistent... His approaches to playing a course and practicing are also valuable and effective at reducing my scores!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

If you are a playing student seeking improvement, I like to start with a session dedicated to analyzing the students existing swing and understanding of the fundamentals... From this meeting, we will determine and prioritize any issues that can be adjusted to bring about the most immediate and significant improvement... Together ww will work to build a routine and the fundamentals that will leade to better and more consistent ball striking and shot making capability.  If you are a new student of the game of extremely frustrated with your previous attempts to learn, we

With a beginning golfer or just extremely frustrated with your previous attempts to learn, I will introduce you to the basic fundamentals of good swing foundation that builds consistency and reliability in ball contact, shot alignment, distance control, and trajectory.  You will develop a good understanding of grip, stance, ball position, and the components of and execution of a good swing path and plane.  A good game requires at its core an effective and consistent foundation of Grip, Stance, Position, and Swing.

Once we have built a repeatable swing and ball flight pattern we will work on how to put together the shots that will get us around the course with the fewest mistakes or errors possible.   Putting Instruction, Short Irons, Mid-Irons and putting the ball in the fairway!!!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am a certified Kepner Trego training expert and problem analysis and resolution expert.  I am a career solution development and implementation expert that has developed a unique and new approach to learning and playing effective golf with a minimum of instruction and effort...  Imagine getting more out of less practice and experience?

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

I always like to meet with the student and assess the needs and the goals before presenting a plan. My reason is that only once we have established the player's skills and desires can we build a properly tailored lesson plan...

I have had players who I was able to fix or get started with only one or two sessions. So, we really need to develop a relationship and work together on a plan and the pricing...

My guarantee is that you will be satisfied with what you are getting and able to translate it into better and more consistent scoring!!

How did you get started teaching?

I began playing at the age of 16 and missed the ability to compete in high school and college, but developed a great passion and ability for the game. I was able to break 80 and score in the mid-seventies regularly. But, I noticed that my scores were not consistent and could vary, wildly, without any noticeable reason. At the age of about 22, I was spotted hitting balls at Rancho Park GC by a former PGA Tour player. He and others used to watch me strike 2 large buckets of balls with extreme accuracy and blistering distance on one day, and then shank a couple of large buckets the next. I had great form and feel but lacked consistency and had no clue.

In came Dave Z.  He finally approached me after many of sessions of watching and asked me a few quick questions that exposed the core of my inconsistency and the problems that I had experienced from time to time...  A lack of good fundamentals!!!  With his help, I was taught the importance of fundaments in the golf swing and how they can make a huge difference in execution and consistency. At first, it was difficult because I had to re-learn many things and develop a new routine but after a while I noticed that my performances were better and more consistent... I could shoot a respectable score regularly and then build from that.  It was those simple fundamentals along with the years of practicing and playing that helped me refine a great new approach that I teach those I meet who watch me play or practice.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with students from no experience at all to low handicappers seeking feedback and observation.

I work with many long time golfers on improving their play via shot selection or swing tips. No student is too good or too green!!

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

My grandson's ability to at the age of 4 and 5 to hit the ball with great consistency and accuracy!!  Watching him execute a well-coordinated shot routine that leads to regularly successful ball striking as a result of teaching the fundamentals of grip, stance, position, and swing move!!

Winning corporate tournaments during my career in business even as I was not able to practice or compete any longer professionally.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

The best instructors will start with a detailed observation. He will find what you have to work with and add to it the missing or necessary fundamental(s) and the big picture understanding that will help you pull together an effective playing and practice strategy that will give you noticeable results that you can continue to build upon.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What is my biggest frustration or problem?

What is my goal?

What is most important to me and where would I like to be?

Am I willing to build anew if necessary to make progress?

What is the secret to playing better or good golf?

What should the priorities be in learning and playing golf?
