My name is Will I’ve been playing baseball for 30 years. I played against some of the MLB’s top stars. My approach to training is a simple but effective one. We’ll work on one new thing every lesson. Some of these fundamentals or techniques can make the difference between just okay or all star potential. I started as a catcher and a pitcher when I was little. I hurt my knees unfortunately so I moved to short or center. So I know every position there is to know except 2nd base. I’ll get you in short stop shape anyway.

Hugh (. says, "My son started taking lessons with PRIME PITCH’N Coach Johnny this year during Spring and I can see and feel the difference in his throwing and pitching. Working with Coach Johnny is one of the best baseball decision that we made. He taught him the proper mechanics using proven techniques with pictures and video breakdowns of my son’s form. Every pitching drill, he explains why and teach how it should feel. Coach Johnny understands that not all kids are built the same and is able to find their strengths and weaknesses and build them into the best pitcher they can be. He also takes the time to get to know and understand each of his pitchers. I highly recommend PRIME PITCH’N Coach Johnny and would recommend going to a session to see the difference for yourself." I would love to be thought of for the position. I played for Mater Dei HS. We won two USA turnements in Carey, North Carolina. I made second all team state (I should have been first). I played for Tony Gwynn at sdsu. I had Tommy John a week before my sophomore year. Then played a year of juco and after finished playing as the closer for BYU. I needed Tommy John again so I hung up the cleats. After college I coached Rialto High School varsity for a year a we made quarter round. I also, with Tom House, Grew up learning and started in his pitching videos he made at USC and made the cover of one. 👍🏽. I would love the opportunity to help players

Your Baseball Training questions, answered

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Lessons.com.

How much do private baseball lessons cost?

Private baseball lessons cost $50 to $75 per 30-minute lesson and $80 to $140 per 1-hour lesson. The price depends on your location, the instructor's experience and reputation, the student's age, and whether the lesson includes extras like a video analysis of the player's performance.

Many coaches offer lower prices per lesson if you purchase a package that includes 6 or 10 lessons. The average package prices are:

  • 6 pack of 30-minute lessons: $270 – $420
  • 6 pack of 1-hour lessons: $450 – $720
  • 10 pack of 30-minute lessons: $400 – $600
  • 10 pack of 1-hour lessons: $700 – $1,100

Are private baseball lessons worth it?

Private baseball lessons may be worth it if your child currently plays the sport, loves it, and has expressed an interest in improving their skills and performance. Private lessons can help your child advance their skills, develop good habits, and avoid forming bad habits.

Motivation and a drive to improve are key factors in whether or not the lessons will actually help your child. It's important for your child to practice in between private lessons.

Children who receive private baseball lessons are usually more likely to advance to playing at higher levels than children who only receive group coaching during regular team practice. However private lessons don't guarantee your child will play collegiate or professional baseball.

What is the difference between private and semi-private baseball lessons?

In a private baseball lesson, the athlete trains one-on-one with an instructor who tailors the lesson specifically to their needs and skill level. In a semi-private lesson, two athletes work together with one instructor. Semi-private lessons, also called partner lessons, typically cost 10% to 20% less than private lessons. However, because the trainer's attention is divided between the two athletes, the athletes don't get the same level of individualized instruction as they would in a private lesson.

What age should you start pitching lessons?

Baseball instructors generally recommend that children start pitching lessons at around 8 to 12 years old, though there are no age requirements or exact rules. Learning fundamental pitching skills early on can help your child avoid developing bad habits that will be difficult for them to break later.

However, your child should not start taking pitching lessons until they are comfortable throwing the ball as well as catching the ball one-handed.

Johnny is completely real and that to me is super important for my son to know what his bad habits etc are. He communicates with the parents in detail about what he feels what my son needs work on and is very honest. This was an amazing experience. #Prime Pitching 💯
