When my daughters started learning to ride with Chrissy and her trainers we knew we were in the right place. Chrissy is a true professional and her endless knowledge and experience around horses really shows. Safety is her priority and it’s nice to know that she is a hands-on trainer and gets on all the horses in her barn to makes sure their training is kept up on weekly. I am amazed at the rider my daughter has become in such a short amount of time. Chrissy is a true professional and we couldn’t be happier we found this amazing barn and group of trainers! I highly recommend Woodland Farms if you are thinking of riding lessons for anyone of any age and if you are serious about becoming a great rider... look no further!

This English Hunter Riding barn and training operation is the best in Orange County. I have experienced training barns in many different areas of OC, none compare to Woodland Farms. The trainers are professional, precise, and above all they are always aware of safety in all aspects of horsemanship. From beginners to seasoned equestrians this is a top notch operation. Sycamore Trails equestrian center is a lovely facility- combined with these trainers it’s horse and rider heaven.

Chrissy is the best trainer I could ever ask for!!! I’ve ridden with her for 18 years... She goes above and beyond for us clients and our horses and cares about making us the best rider we can be and watches out for our safety and our horses! I’m forever grateful and loyal to this trainer and wouldn’t go anywhere else!

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

We believe that every rider should have a strong foundation and understanding of how to work with and handle a horse. With this said, this is a big part of how we approach our beginning riding lessons. Lessons are approximately one hour long; we will provide a lesson horse or pony that is suitable for the riders’ needs and teach them how to work with their horse while grooming and tacking them up before rides, as well as untacking and preparing them to go back home when finished. It is important for our riders to have a bond with their horse as well as learn responsibility through caring for them.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

We are certified by United States Hunter Jumper Association.

With over 20 years of experience in riding, coaching, showing and sales, Woodland Farms has a program that will help you and your horse excel!

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Package of 4 lessons $260

Package of 8 lessons $475

How did you get started teaching?

Woodland Farms is a second generation family owned business.  Head trainer, Chrissy has been involved in the equestrian world for the majority of her life.  Her riding career began at the early age of two years old with her first pony.  As a child and teen, her development in the horse world continued to grow, aided by family members actively involved with horses and their care.  Riding lessons, horse clinics, and competitions became a common theme in her daily life.  As an adult, these cumulative experiences led to the growth and development of her equestrian business, her skills in horse management, and her understanding of the complex aspects of horsemanship and the art of riding.
