Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I take an assessment of the client's current skill level, abilities, and experience. Once I thoroughly understand the client's goals, I can create a personalized plan focused on strength needs, speed, and projected skill level.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a certified ISSA (International Sports Science Association) Personal Trainer. I also possess Associate degrees in Human Resource Management, Criminal Justice & a BA in Organizational Management Degree.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My standard pricing is $50 an hour and $75 for 90 min sessions.
10 to 15 1-hour sessions are discounted $5 per session
15 or more sessions are discounted $10 per session
If specialized programs are needed, the price will be adjusted accordingly.
How did you get started teaching?
While serving the military, I help many fellow servicemen get into shape for the PT tests. I played and coached football & basketball during that time as well. Now that I am retired, my passion is to help people get into shape and help the youth be better prepared in football and basketball to minimize injury while performing at a competitive level.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with kids as young as 9 years old to college-bound athletes.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Be ready to work hard and crush your goals.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
The work it takes to reach their desired goals. Remember, they came to the coach/teacher.
