About
Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District, founded in 1972 and located in Los Altos, California, is dedicated to the acquisition and preservation of a regional greenbelt of open space land in perpetuity. Its mission extends to protecting and restoring the natural environment while providing opportunities for ecologically sensitive public enjoyment and education. The District oversees twenty-four preserves, all open to the public free of charge, 365 days a year from dawn until half an hour after sunset, offering visitors stunning views, diverse wildlife, and a range of recreational activities.
