No two golf swings are alike. It is important to know "how", but more important to understand the "why". If one does not understand why and how, they will have a difficult time affecting any change in the patterns already established in their golf swing.
I teach you how to use your swing to correctly strike a golf ball through a better understanding of ball flight laws, swing arc, swing plane & path, and it's relationship to the face angle. Once you understand the proper adjustment needed for your swing you will be able to affect a change making you better at ball striking and not worse like many experience with swing changes and lessons.
I have always loved the game of golf and I enjoy growing the game as a PGA Professional. The oppportunity to meet people of such diversity and affect the lives of so many junior golfers over the years. One of the benefits of being at the same location, Murrieta Valley Golf Range, for so long I have had the opportunity to stay in touch with so many students over the years and develop some wonderful relationships. For example, watching Rickie grow up since he was about 10 and getting to hold the Ryder Cup last week was pretty special!

How did you get started teaching?
When I was a teen I had the privelge of helping the younger juniors while at Billy Casper's golf camp. Meeting Mr Casper was such a game changer for me. Then I got to learn from Jack Nicklaus when he was opening up Bear Creek and spending much time there. I tried to play the game but found that I was better at teaching it and I enjoyed helping people at their game and the intrinsic rewards associated with the whole thing. I was hooked as a teacher. It came easy because I didnt make it up. I was simply passing on what Billy, Jack and my PGA Pro Tim Haas taught me.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Go to someone established that can fit to your schedule. Someone who uses their tools every day will be able to better identify your needs.
