Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to see what their goal is first then work out a plan of attact.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I went to Professional Golfers Career College (PGCC) and graduated at the top of my class with honors where they taught me how to give lessons and and all other aspects of the game. I was a General Manager for Billy Casper Golf in Brea for 4yrs and GM at North Golf course for 2years after Brea.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My standard lessons is $80 an hour for all aspects of golf, from the driver to putting. On course lessons are a little more expensive due to time usage. For course management lesson would be $150.00 for 9 holes. If I can't help in 9 holes then I'm not doing a good job. But if you want to due a full 18 then it's $300.
How did you get started teaching?
Through the golf college PGCC, I did have my PGA status but have not renewed it for a few years now.
What types of students have you worked with?
Adults and teens mostly beginners.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I played in a NFL fund rasier with my student from Peru that he hosted and played with ex-football stars.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure you are comfortable with whom ever teaches you, if you are not relaxed and comfortable then move on until you find that teacher or coach you like. If I'm not the one that is ok, no offense at all.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Like I stated earlier, set some goals for yourself and go from there. Write them down so you can stay on track.
