I started with tutoring, voice lessons, and babysitting with my three younger siblings as well as neighbors and I have been working on spreading my knowledge ever since. I feel lucky to have been able to attend Oakland School for the Arts since the 6th grade and wish to continue spreading my love for the arts as well as academics. Guitar lessons with Bess have been so worth it for me because she teaches not only the basics of guitar, but she also teaches music theory, something I have never been exposed to in the past. She encourages me when I am doing something well and she also corrects me if I still need to work on something. I don't think I would have been able to learn guitar on my own without Bess's help!

My two children have been taking lessons with Ms. Anna for a while now. Ms Anna took in my son, who was very young at the beginning, and adapted her teaching style to accommodate his learning level. She is very patient and provides lots of words of encouragement that helps my kids going. When the pandemic hit, Ms Anna quickly transitioned to online classes and it was the only lesson we continued and I am very glad we did! The kids love learning piano from her!

I really love my voice classes with Vero. She is such a nice person and an incredible teacher. We have great moments during the classes, very funny and sweet. My voice changed so much for the better in only one year, which is something I felt was impossible. The class time with Vero is my favorite moment of the week. We work hard but it feels very relaxed and enjoyable. I would absolutely recommend her!
