My lessons provide personal contact that develop, deepen and sustain a music practice. Musical intelligence is a life-resource that has durability and practical value over time. Tongue and gesture are the means by which the voice and hands discover and communicate m

Piano, Voice, and Songwriting Lessons for Children and Adults
At MMS, we infuse strong fundamentals (note reading, music theory, proper technique) with playing by ear, improvisation, and songwriting. The idea is that students have a solid backbone of understanding and execution AND can get creative with music from the very beginning. The end result is true musicianship and passion for playing! And we do this by pulling from the music that our students love and are inspired by. There are also many opportunities within our studio for performance, collaboration, and expansion.

We share ourselves and our stories in our music because in doing so, we create a haven where musicians and music lovers alike come to share in the joy of sound. We are Musically Minded and we invite you to join us!

Some vocal teachers instruct students (and I quote) to “Sing from the diaphragm!" However, I say: How can you? "The vocal cords are not in the diaphragm”... Yet, this instruction implants a subliminal message that instructs the student to blow more air. At least 90% of the time - very harmful! Although it is very true, that breathing is very important, nearly every student who enters their 1st voice lesson will state, they need to work on their breathing exercises; I just listen…
The truth is, the largest problem experienced by the overwhelming majority of singers
We utilize the Visual Feedback Technique as a compliment to our vocal training. In lieu of the traditional piano accompaniment, we use powerful vocal training software displayed on a large 4k TV monitor that provides visual feedback for enhanced vocal training.

For instance, if the student is having difficulty in matching pitch, then the display will show the student the target pitch compared to the pitch they are singing to help them
