Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I typically begin with a single lesson and then assess the frequency needs based on the students goals. We will chitchat, sing a little bit, and apply newly learned skills to current songs that you know and love.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelors in music education with a vocal focus, plus a masters in performance. I have been performing since I was a child and teaching for the last eight years, including four years as a j.co professor. I am a teacher at heart and love to help people arrive at a lightbulb moment!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I offer packages or single lessons in 30, 45, and 60 minute increments
How did you get started teaching?
I am a teacher at heart and I’ve always helped those that I love move from point a to point B. I’m a good listener and communicator and care very deeply about the growth of others. Being a singer with an educator’s heart, I fell very naturally into giving lessons as a form of work after receiving my MM.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am currently working on the role of Despina with Bayshore Lyric Opera. I can’t wait for the shows in September!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Study with someone who is interested in empowering you!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are your purposes for singing lessons and what do you expect to gain from them? Are you willing to explore, be curious, and be creative? Are you interested in process?
