Bay Area Horsemanship
About
Let me be the open door into the horse community ✨
My names Kim and I run Bay Area Horsemanship out of a tranquil and small private barn. My experience comes from a people first mindset. The best way to do right by our animals is to connect with the owners and students that work with them. I love people as much as I do horses.
In the almost decade I’ve worked with horses I’ve had a variety of students. I don’t believe in a set lesson plan that is copy pasted on to students and clients. Each person shows up as who they are that day and so does the horse. Beyond that is the connection the student and horse have together.
My focus is beyond ridding training. Teaching students how to train and understand horses as well as ride them does far more for both the human and equine. All my lessons are one on one. I’ve learned group lessons can leave students behind or not be at the right pace for another.
I focus on the nervous system and polyvagal theory. Not only are we regulating ourselves but the hoses as well. I also teach natural horsemanship and R+ training. There really isn’t a single method that works for all horses just like us!
