BIGHORN Golf Club
About
I have been fortunate to study and observe many of the games top instructors over my 27 year career. Beginning with my father, a PGA Master Professional and Top 100 Teacher, and including legendary instructors such as Bob Toski, David Leadbetter, Manuel de la Torre, Darrell Kestner, Craig Shankland and countless others, I have done what all teachers do... stolen what I felt are the best elements of their presentations and incorporated them into my own.
I take great satisfaction from the results my students see. Hearing stories about awesome shots, low rounds and tournament victories are what excite me. The greatest compliment I receive is when students tell their friends how I am able to make difficult subjects sound plain and simple. There are layers of complexity within the swing and the game that can seem overwhelming at times. I strive to isolate the most important needs of an individual student and help show him or her their most efficient path to success.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Each student requires an individual process. I do not teach a "model" that all golfers should follow. There are certainly fundamentals which cannot be ignored, but each student's approach to achieving consistency is unique.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I like to say I was "home schooled". I grew up around the game with an amazing mentor in my father. He was an ambitous and extremely well respected golf instructor who, himself, was always learning. He taught me to seek out different perspectives and to constantly work on improving my presentation.
I have completed courses in biomechanics, mental training and junior coaching offered through fellow instructors. I am also a Top 50 Kids Teacher in America, as ranked by USKids Golf.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I teach at a private club but I am allowed a limited number of outside students. I charge a rate of $200 per hour, with custom lesson packages available.
How did you get started teaching?
In college I began helping my father conduct 3-day winter golf schools in Florida. I would listen to his instruction, then parrot it to students while they practiced. I began to see how effective his philosophy and approach was, and found it rewarding to employ it on my own and see students flourish. I was hooked immediately!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with every level of golfer, from juniors and beginners to PGA and LPGA Tour professionals.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Recently a student with whom I have worked for years was offered a scholarship to play for the UCLA Bruins Mens Golf Team. It is extremely rewarding to see students achieve goals and then help them set new ones.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a person with whom you connect on a personal level. You should not be made to feel intimidated or ashamed, yet you should be challenged and motivated to improve.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Do not feel any pressure to say the right things. A good instructor will ask you the right questions to begin evaluating you effectively. However I do recommend students do two things during a lesson: 1.) Be open and receptive to the teacher's ideas, and 2.) Be extremely verbal with your thoughts or concerns. Ask questions! Your curiosity and feedback help us a great deal.
