Hi, my name is Coach Tarra and I am a golf instructor in the Coachella Valley.
I have been playing golf for over 40 years and teaching for the last 20 years. Golf is my passion! I have worked with students of all ages and backgrounds. Everyone has a different challenge when it comes to golf. I methodically work through all stages of the game to achieve the goals my students desire. Just as important as learning the mechanics of the golf swing is learning the principles of the game of golf including the rules and etiquette. The beauty of the game of golf is that it is a game of honor, integrity, responsibility, sportsmanship, and respect for the course and others - all core values that permeate through everyday life and thus are great values not just for juniors, but for all players.
Golf is a lifetime sport and is meant to be enjoyed at all stages of your life. Whether you want to make the high school golf team, play with your spouse, or just beat your father in law - I can help you:)

She’s the best! I’m a beginner golfing. We started with the fundamentals of putting and
chipping which makes a lot a sense to get the correct motion down first! She’s very easy to
understand and she explains everything clearly and logistically. I really enjoy my lessons
with her and starting to really enjoy golf as well!

My previous golf instruction has been from Golf Club Professionals. I would describe these

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
After setting goals and objectives, our initial lesson will focus on assessing your short game proficiency. For beginners, we begin with the fundamentals of putting, chipping, and pitching before progressing to mastering the long game on the range. Once students become proficient at striking the ball, we transition to a par-3, 9-hole course to refine golf strategy while actively keeping score. I eagerly anticipate assisting you in achieving your golf aspirations while ensuring an enjoyable experience. See you out on the course!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
With over four decades of playing expertise and two decades of teaching background, I bring a wealth of experience to both individual and group instruction. My tenure as a golf instructor spans various esteemed establishments, including Total Golf Adventures (TGA) in Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Palm Springs, and Rancho Mirage, as well as The Better Golf Academy in Huntington Beach. Additionally, I've had the privilege of coaching the JV and Varsity Golf teams at Palm Springs High School.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I'm delighted to share a couple of recent student successes and memorable moments: One student joyfully texted me to announce her first birdie on the course. Additionally, after just nine lessons focusing on mastering the short game with my beginner players, they are confidently tackling 9-hole par 3 courses, scoring just 1 or 2 over par, all the while mastering the art of scoring and reveling in the game.
