At Rushton Stables, we are passionate about teaching people to ride! With us, you will receive quality instruction in a fun and friendly environment. Our riding lessons are focused on learning good horsemanship, proper position with a focus on safety. All lessons are taught by a professional, experienced, knowledgable member of our staff. Whether you are new to the world of horses or a seasoned show rider, there is something for everyone at Rushton Stables. We teach 3 different disciplines of riding as well as Driving lessons for ages 3-93. A wide variety of safe, proven lesson horses are available for each level of rider.

We believe that riding horses is much more than just another activity - its one of the best ways to teach important life lessons to our young people such a hard work, patience, confidence, and empathy. Adults will find the experience just as enlightening and rewarding, all while finding a much needed escape.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
New students are evaluated in their first lesson and matched with an instructor and horse(s) that can help them to become competant, comfortable riders. We enjoy the process of taking riders from their first time sitting on a horse to their first time performing all of the gaits in the outdoor arena safely and in control...and beyond.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our instructors are certified in riding instruction and have ridden, trained, and instructed for many years. When riding with us, you have experience and proven success on your team!

How did you get started teaching?
I've spent my life in the equine insudtry and enjoy training horses and showing myself but have found a particular satisfaction in teaching people to ride and being a part of their progress in the sport.
What types of students have you worked with?
We work regularly with children and adults and enjoy both as they have different learning curves and progress very differently.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We recently came home from our World Championship Morgan Horse SHow with 4 World Championship titles, 6 Grand National titles, and 4 Reserve World Championship titles for our horses and riders.
