Frequently asked questions

First is a 30 minute Zoom meeting for us to get to know one another. This is not only to see if the services your inquiring about are going to be what you are looking for, but also to see if we are a good match for one another. I'm very selective about where I dedicate my time and to whom I spend it on. From there the fun happens and we enter into our formal agreement and start working on your goal. This usually consists of a 60 minute discovery session to build out the best path forward for you specifically. From there you receive an invite to our mobile app to begin your program.

For me my biggest asset has been my work experiance as a life long trainer and athlete. I've competed competitively with body building, powerlifting, wrestled at a high level, and am just an empationed fan of movement and nutrition. From there my more formal training comes from my Degree in Dietetics, my Licence in Clinical Nutrition, and about a dozen different certifications in fitness and nutrition.

My pricing for these is usually priced by time and task. I'd typically give a quote by end of out first session, but for more time consuming jobs my quote may vary.

As for 1 on 1 Personal Training or Nutrition Coaching my prices are $80 per hour and $50 per 30 min session. I also offer online programming. Please inquire for details.

I got started teaching back in 2014 when I opened my first studio. I brought on 2 friends as trainers who may have over exadurated about their experience with personal training. I ended up having to invest time and energy into them to get them up to speed and I found it to be some of the most rewarding work I've ever done. From there whether I was contracted or hired specifically for that role as educator to trainers or clients I've always just found myself falling into the role over the years.

I've worked with every kind of student from brand new clients who have never moved a day in their life, to the high end athlete. I find all students have a piece of their education that is very challenging, but also my favorite part. As for educating trainers, I trained brand new, recently certified trainers up to some of the highest performers in the country in their craft.

I'm incredibly fond of the recent "Rocky Steps" video. It's a video of a recently quadriplegic that's 3 months post accident who was told he'd never walk again. He more or less gives his Doctor the Middle Finger and says challenge accepted. Through grit and belief he teaches himself to walk again and walks up the Steps in Philadelphia from the iconic movie Rocky. With a crowd and music in the background he struggles, step by step. As sweat drips down his face and exhaustion sets in he makes it happen.

I absolutely love any story of someone setting their own personal goal and in the eyes of adversity overcoming the challenge. That's the type of guy who inspires me every time.

Don't get overly caught up on their achievements or formal education. Find someone you like who you'll be excited to hear from or makes you laugh. I know that sounds like almost counterintuitive advice in an industry with almost no formal regulations of any kind, but it's the truth. I've hired and trained hundreds of individuals and the ones who end up doing the best and caring the most are the ones who consider themselves life long students of their craft. That's not to say having a masters degree in Excercise Physiology doesn't mean you aren't that. It's just been my experience that they have far less real work expierance and they end up stopping their education.

I would say keep an open mind and let us do the asking. A good teacher knows how to help you find what it is you want. If you had anything you'd like specifically voice it. Make sure early on that you'll be a good fit. Theres nothing worse than not being able to follow through on an expectation you didn't even know your client or student had.

I always tell my clients and students when asking them to describe their goal or desired outcome to describe it to me like they are describing it to a child. To speak about it openly and let me put it together into coherent speech. At the end of the day we've heard it all before and can either help or probably know someone that does.
