About
I have loved golf for 67 years and love to pass on my learned knowledge about this most difficult sport. I have helped all types of kids, women and men learn or improve their skills and understanding of both the physical and mental sides of this most crazy game. Several dozen of my students are now playing on high school and college golf teams.. I hope to hear from you in the near future. Thank you.
My students are my total focus. I have worked with 5 kids who are autistic, and with success. I work with men and women who have perhaps had replacement parts and repairs like knees and shoulders and elbows. My ultimate teaching changes from the full-on althlete or person with some restrictions. I love to see the smile on a students face when success is reached!!! My motto is, "HIT 'EM DOWN THE MIDDLE" and my teaching revolves around you learning to control the club and ball....

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, a general review of parts of the golf club and how the clubs work and move throughout the golf swing. Start with short shots and short swing movements and graduating to longer and more powerful swing movements. Lots of encouragement. Emphasis on short game skills, chipping and putting as these skills represent about 65% of your golf score. The game inside of 100 yards. Much depends on goals and life situation of each student, things which impinge on ones ability to practice, which is key...lots of practice and reps.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
65 years of playing, education and continual learning of all that is Golf. Learning situations from noted American teaching professional Dr. James Suttie, Australian player and Teaching Professional Brian Crafter--the father of noted ESPN and Golf Channel broadcaster, Jane Crafter. Also a few great lessons from a well known Southern California guy named Roger Dunn, who taught for years out of a trailer in North Hollywood. Continuous reading and observing and watching golf swings continually forever !!! PGA Jr. League Certified Coach, passing all exams with a 96% rating.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
1 Person, 1 hour for $55...a second person sharing the lesson time is just $20 additional, or $75 for both....
How did you get started teaching?
I actually began teaching friends and family since the age of about 16. What transformed my life into a real Professional Teaching situation started 5 years ago when I began helping the Woodcreek PGA PRO, Bill Childs with all his Youth clinics and playing groups, as a volunteer. After about 5 months I was told I could not volunteer any longer, however, Woodcreek would hire me as a Teaching Professional and certified me to give private lessons and conduct clinics....I still help Bill and I always will....this is the dream I never dreamn't because who could believe all this could happen....I pinch myself daily. My many thousands of hours of practice, reading and observing all came together and I have never been more honored.
What types of students have you worked with?
Youth between 5 years old up to 16. Students with both mental and physical hurdles, and WE work together to create the methods and concentrations to hit a golf ball. I work with Seniors and try to get them ready for a different Golf Journey. I conduct several clinics-Sunday Practice for Women, Sunday Practice for Kids, PGA Jr. League Coach, Youth Travel Team Coach, Private Lessons including playing lessons, and I conduct a clinic for each meeting of the Ladies 9 Hole Tuesday Funday group. I currently work with 58 people in private lessons and clinics.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
The beginning of the Golf Tours starting tournaments again. I love all the Tours. You will find the best swings on the LPGA!!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
There has to be Trust and Communication between Student and Teacher. Be sure that the person is really experienced, not ridiculously priced, provides you with a good practice atmosphere, and has a good Greenside Manner !!! Teacher MUST be a great communicator.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Be sure that you want to make the commitment. Golf is a tough game, so keep your expectations realistic.
Be sure that you have time in life to devote at least 5 hours of practice for every 1 lesson that you take...lessons are of no value without practice.
