Fair Oaks Family Taekwondo
About
We teach accredited traditional Taekwondo for kids 6 and up, and adults of any age. Accredited means we are Kukkiwon and United World Taekwondo Association (UWTA) certified and ranked black belts, and instructors. At many martial art schools the instructor simply teaches what they want, at our school we have a system to train our students that develops them faster AND more thougholy than other schools. Traditional taekwondo, means we train in both Poomse (Forms) and Sparring, our classes are built around practical application for self-defense; as well as, the sport aspect of taekwondo. Most important is the personal and character development of our students. We believe in growing you as a person that can properly use the art of taekwondo in mind, body, and spirit. Genuine taekwondo class, genuine taekwondo testings, genuine taekwondo rank. 45 minute classes, typically split for kids and adults.
We absolutely love the progress our students make on their taekwondo journey. Whether kids or adults, a journey to black belt and beyond transforms students mentally, emotionally, and physically.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Master Kropp loves to start the first class 1 on 1! This let's our students get individualized attention and get used to the movements before jumping into a class with more advanced students. As you promote, our class times adjust slightly so that you continue to train more often with people around your rank and skill levels. Our minimum expectation is that our students come twice a week (core classes), but there are more options if you love taekwondo!

How did you get started teaching?
In traditional taekwondo, students learn leadership skills and the importance of giving back to your community. As a teenager I was involved in a Junior Leader program, and as an adult in a Trainee Instructor program. Transforming students into amazing people is priceless.
What types of students have you worked with?
Kids as young as 4, adults as old as 82. Many kids that are in need of discipline or confidence. Adults and teenagers typically have a thirst for the self-defense practical application side in addition to the sport side of taekwondo, we have taught the entire range up to State, National, and Olympic levels.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Having students reach out after going to college, and reminiscing at the benefits and foundation that taekwondo did for them.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure the instructors will exceed your expectations, your student should also be a good student for the instructor, just as much as the instructor should be good for the student. Ask questions about certification and Kukkiwon Rank, otherwise your black belt won't mean anything beyond that individual school.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What do I want to get out of training in taekwondo?
What am I scared/unsure of?
