Geoff F. says, "Coach Deep did an excellent job teaching my 11 now 12 year son fundamental football skills. He focused on specific football routines - squats, high knees, lunges, etc.. My sons main focus was wide receiver. Coach performed specific hand eye coordination, catching, route running drills. Over a year of training my son went from having a hard time catching a football to catching almost anything thrown his way greatly increasing his confidence. I look forward to using him again in the near future." Read more

Hello there! I am Tyler and I specialize in baseball specific training. I am well versed in all aspects of the game as I played professionally as a Pitcher for almost 9 seasons. I have been a pitching coach and have given lessons for over 10 years. My passion for baseball is undeniable and I love to help the development of athletes who are willing to put in the hard work. My lessons make significant impacts because of the detail that I put into each lesson and how uniquely specific they are depending on the needs of the client. A lesson with me will have high level communication to set goals and to correct movements. Corrections will be made

Lifelong baseball and softball fan, coach, player and umpire. I can give you a unique perspective from all of these roles including managing tee ball five-year-olds, little league, all the way up to men’s softball tournament baseball. I've played both infield and outfield in high school as well as starter pitching. I think my unique and most favorable Attribute is that I am able to explain and demonstrate techniques and tips, until it becomes a skill - where I have noticed that other coaches are lacking in the ability to either demonstrate or explain why little nuances are so important. And this has been proven as my teams have always be

Your Baseball Training questions, answered

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Lessons.com.

How much do private baseball lessons cost?

Private baseball lessons cost $50 to $75 per 30-minute lesson and $80 to $140 per 1-hour lesson. The price depends on your location, the instructor's experience and reputation, the student's age, and whether the lesson includes extras like a video analysis of the player's performance.

Many coaches offer lower prices per lesson if you purchase a package that includes 6 or 10 lessons. The average package prices are:

  • 6 pack of 30-minute lessons: $270 – $420
  • 6 pack of 1-hour lessons: $450 – $720
  • 10 pack of 30-minute lessons: $400 – $600
  • 10 pack of 1-hour lessons: $700 – $1,100

Are private baseball lessons worth it?

Private baseball lessons may be worth it if your child currently plays the sport, loves it, and has expressed an interest in improving their skills and performance. Private lessons can help your child advance their skills, develop good habits, and avoid forming bad habits.

Motivation and a drive to improve are key factors in whether or not the lessons will actually help your child. It's important for your child to practice in between private lessons.

Children who receive private baseball lessons are usually more likely to advance to playing at higher levels than children who only receive group coaching during regular team practice. However private lessons don't guarantee your child will play collegiate or professional baseball.

What is the difference between private and semi-private baseball lessons?

In a private baseball lesson, the athlete trains one-on-one with an instructor who tailors the lesson specifically to their needs and skill level. In a semi-private lesson, two athletes work together with one instructor. Semi-private lessons, also called partner lessons, typically cost 10% to 20% less than private lessons. However, because the trainer's attention is divided between the two athletes, the athletes don't get the same level of individualized instruction as they would in a private lesson.

What age should you start pitching lessons?

Baseball instructors generally recommend that children start pitching lessons at around 8 to 12 years old, though there are no age requirements or exact rules. Learning fundamental pitching skills early on can help your child avoid developing bad habits that will be difficult for them to break later.

However, your child should not start taking pitching lessons until they are comfortable throwing the ball as well as catching the ball one-handed.

Coach Deep did a great job of working with my 9 year old on QB skills as well as general fitness training and good athlete discipline and habits. His correction to my son’s deep pass throwing mechanics definitely made a noticeable difference this season for our team resulting in more touchdowns and less interceptions. He has and teaches a great work ethic that goes beyond just the sport.

Jason introduced my son to baseball. He was 5 years old, very active, without any knowledge of the game. Coach Jason was willing to take him on regardless. He had never worked with a child younger than 6 and he revised his strategies constantly to find a way to break things down for my son. He keeps the practice moving the full hour incorporating all skills. His patience is like nothing I have ever seen. Everyday I thought he would tell me my son was too young for an hour lesson, except he would just smile and say, “I think he’s having fun.” I have observed him in sessions with other players and his care for them is genuine. He follows up with them from week to week and the kids can tell he cares. This has been a great experience and I would give Coach Jason the highest recommendation.
