Maureen is a patient and inventive teacher. I particular love the small group classes. They're fun and I find I learn more in a group lesson than in a private lesson, which I didn't expect. Highly recommend Ride Music Studio." Read more

I gained my piano training and music education in Taiwan (BM) and Japan (MM) and have been teaching for 25 years, currently in Cupertino, Santa Clara and Mountain View. I love the opportunity to share my love of music and to inspire students to achieve their best. I use the music exams of the MTAC and ABRSM and enter students for several competitions as additional motivation. My students have ranged from ages 4-18, many of them competition prize winners and gaining the highest honors in exams. I see piano lessons as an opportunity not only to excel in music but to improve learning skills in general and add to their quality of life.

Melissa Y. says, "We have been absolutely thrilled with the piano lessons our twin 7-year-old girls have been receiving from Samantha over the past 9 months. Samantha has a remarkable ability to engage them by incorporating their music preferences into the lessons, whether it's by letting them choose some of their songs or by introducing them to simplified versions of more complex tunes. This personalized approach has not only kept the lessons fun and exciting but also ensured that they remain highly motivated and eager to learn. Samantha's patience and positivity shine through in every interaction. Her feedback is encouraging and supportive, which has been fantastic for building our girls' confidence and skills at the piano. She has also done the extra step of sending videos of how the songs should be played for additional help during home practice. Thanks to her guidance, we've seen significant progress in their playing abilities and musical understanding. We feel fortunate to have found such a dedicated teacher for our daughters." Read more

Ji C. says, "She is very professional piano teacher and pianist and the studying experience was amazing. I studied the piano for a while, but then I did not practice for a long time and after that I met Silvia. My goal is performing 4 or 5 pieces well. First, she gave me S. Bach prelude No.1 to check my level. Then she gave me a list of pieces to pick. I choose a Bach minuet in G Major, Czerny 599 etudes No.45 and No.1 and Mozart piano sonata in C major. Every piece she gave my several lessons to make sure I perform in a right way and also she taught me how to analyze the music and understand the music, such as the structure of a piece and the meaning of changes of harmony. ex. she played really well!!! I recorded many of her performances!" Read more

I feel incredibly blessed to have had Nora's musical influence through out my life. Nora is deeply committed to instilling a deep understanding of music through historical context, music theory as well as the expression of music through her students' connection with music. From Nora's experiences growing up in Russia, her understanding of European history and her natural curiosity for historical culture, her life experiences culminates in the practice room to bring meaning to the music that were written in times of Bach, Beethoven, Schummann, Prokofiev, to the comtemporary. I remember it to be a colorful depiction of what life was like back then, the social revolutionary movements and it's effects on music. She is then able to translate that into the musical notes on the page from form and structure to music progressions to chromatic development to style of playing and articulations. But the most important lesson I learn from her is how to express emotions through music as this is what connects us to the sounds that is being created. Although I have won awards from competitions during Nora teachings, I cannot tell you where those certificates lie but what stays with me in the last 20 years is the love of music, the trained ears for appreciating classical music, the spirit of beauty in the world by valuing music and last but not least the ability to express myself in a deeply satisfying way without using words.

I have been taking piano lessons with Maureen at ride music studio since almost a year.Maureen follows simplymusic technique to teach piano.I have learnt lot of songs with her so far and still learning more.Maureen is very patient when it comes to teaching and she always has a plan in mind about what all things to teach within 45 minutes class. She also arranges lot of events like playing at senior living homes, jam sessions, etc which I feel is really exciting.I would definitely recommend ride music studio if you want to enjoy playing piano and not just follow the coursework.

Ahmad is an easy going teacher who kicks my butt at the same time. He's a stickler for the foundational elements, which is exactly what I need to take my guitar playing to the next level. He is truly interested in seeing me improve. I'm a songwriter and I need to up my game to be able to hang with co-writers who are more advanced musically, and I also have the goal to play out at writers rounds and open mics and I need to get a little more proficient for that. We're playing acoustic. We've done both Skype and in-person lessons. Highly recommended. Good location.

Orange Music Studio was definitely one of the highlights of my high school career! I took lessons from Gala Yaroshevsky for roughly two years and she was one of the most passionate and influential teachers I've had in my life. She has the ability to go far beyond just teaching the notes and techniques and makes music such an immersive, enjoyable, and unique experience for her students. She guided me through the Advanced level of the Certificate of Merit and both the Flute Choirs and Philharmonic Orchestra of the San Jose Youth Symphony. It would not have been the same with anyone else!

I really like her teaching style and that she lets me play piano for fun and enjoyment, not for perfection. If I wanted perfection, she could also help me with that. But I’m really glad she is fun to play with and has helped me with my goals of enjoying playing the piano.
