The horse’s best interest is first priority. Marie believes that horses need to be out as much as possible and every effort is made to ensure this, weather permitting and facility permitting. Turnout, hand grazing and hand walking, treadmill time and riding time are all planned as needed to ensure as much time out as possible.
Marie takes great pride in detail oriented training of the horse and rider and believes that quiet, subtle aids with a properly positioned rider are the keys to effective and fair riding. Her program focuses on teaching proper aids from the rider which produces a beautiful picture and happy horses.
Marie tailors her teaching style as much as possible to each clients way of learning and encourages feedback so she can better understand the clients thought process and help each client to understand techniques. This also goes for the horse. Sometimes a trail ride, cavaletti day, in hand session or lunging day will be a part of the program.
You enter Marie’s program with a common goal of improving your overall fitness, core strength, knowledge and understanding of subtlety in aids, no matter what the level and improving your horse’s overall fitness, strength, knowledge and understanding and ride-ability, no matter what the level. It takes practice!
Marie’s goal is to produce 80% riders and to produce horses to the best of their abilities. She encourages showing a level below what you’re training for and keeping goals. Goals should be shared with Marie below.
Please come to your lessons prepared with well fitting headphones.

I have been lucky enough to have been riding for 30 years, training with many top trainers in the sport of dressage currently and over the years. I have been a professional for the past 18 years
I love coaching all levels of riders and seeing their overall fitness, coordination, stamina, and general health improve, as well as their understanding of horses and both of their body mechanics to produce a beautiful and harmonious picture and relationship with the horse.
Of course, I love training the horses and seeing those same results as well !
Marie treats the horses with the highest level of care and she’s a wonderful person and trainer.
I have received nothing but the best instruction from Marie. She is clear, patient, and works hard to make sure her students are achieving their goals. Simply the best as a trainer, horse woman, and person
