About this pro

We offer various training opportunities in multiple disciplines of horse back riding (English pleasure, Hunter-Jumper, Western Pleasure, Western reining, All Terrain, Trails, Archery, & Mounted Weapons). Our focus is not limited to the saddle but also gives students the opportunity to learn from the ground up, becoming well versed in equine grooming, care, tack maintenance, first aid, handling, and training. We also focus on film related skills including set-etiquette, camera work, transport, wrangling, and submission etiquette.

I love seeing the natural progression of our students and the partnerships they learn to develop with our wonderful horses.

Michelle is amazing! Once you’re on the horse she can automatically see where you need improving and your strengths. Michelle explains perfectly how to place your body to make everything easier. She’s not only a great teacher but an efficient one. Which is what you need when you’re focused on not falling off of a horse. Happy to say, thanks to Michelle, I’ve never fallen off!

So you want to learn how to ride horses? Well you could go to your regular, boring and bland equestrian center or..... you could learn from a CERTIFIED BADASS STUNTWOMAN how to ride horses for the stunt business. Oh did I mention as well she teaches you all the fundamentals of taking care of a horse, teaches both Western and English riding and proper body placement when riding . SHE TEACHES IT ALL! Ms. Shock is the equestrian mentor you need to learn on how to ride horses especially coming from a stuntman new to horse riding. Best teacher and also an amazing human being. TAKE HER CLASSES!

What I liked about working with Storybook Equestrian is that I learned so much about working with a horse and how to take care of it and the circumstances that comes with it. Michelle is a great teacher that truly knows what shes talking about and gave me so much knowledge with riding and caring for a horse and also made sure I was always comfortable and safe.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

There is a brief skill level assesment period which is then followed by a period of curriculum planning and customization, in order to tailor the riding program to the specific needs and desires of the student attending. Classes include ground work, care & grooming, equine first aid, mounted work with multiple disciplines, as well as an opportunity to move forward with mounted weapons work & skills building with various other industry professionals who are partnered with our riding program.
