Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start by talking to the student to determine thier goals and experience level and then work toward that goal.
The first lesson is learning basic safety around the horse. Each lesson builds on the skills learned from the previous lesson at the progess of the individual.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been riding my whole life. I draw upon my own experiences of learning what works for me and the horse. I teach these to my students.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My rate is $40 for a private 1hr lesson.
How did you get started teaching?
I love to share my passion for horses and riding. I have for years enabled friends to learn and experience a bit of that love by sharing my horses and coaching them.
When a family approached me about formal lessons, it was a natural progress to further explore and share my knowledge, skills, and enthusiasm.
I truly enjoy seeing a student progress in skill and confidence and grow thier own love for horses and riding.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Meet with the instructor. Determine if thier communication style works for you. Be clear about your goals and expectations.
