About

Hello my name is Calvin Maranville PGA (951) 526-6893. Send me a txt and I will get back to you the fastest. I'm a PGA Teaching Professional over at Beach City Golf Club in Hermosa Beach California but also teach online on the "SKILLEST' app. I would recommend that if you're looking for something convenient and also more affordable. I have had the privilaege of teaching for over 10 years now. Golf Success is Within Your Reach: With the Right Instruction and Practice, You Can Achieve Your Goals. I believe that golf is a lifelong journey, and I am committed to helping my students improve their game and have more fun on the course!

Practice regularly: The more you practice, the better you will become at the physical mechanics of the swing. But don't just practice your swing. Practice your mental game as well. Learn to stay focused and positive, even when things are not going your way.

Be patient: Golf is a challenging game, and it takes time to improve. Don't get discouraged if you don't see results immediately. Just keep practicing and learning, and you will eventually see improvement.

Stay focused: When you're on the course, focus on the shot at hand and don't let your mind wander. This is easier said than done, but it is essential if you want to play your best.

Be positive: A positive attitude will help you stay focused and motivated. Even if you're having a bad day, try to stay positive and believe in yourself. This will help you play your best golf.

Golf is a game of self-improvement: It is a journey, not a destination. The goal is to constantly be learning and improving your game. Don't get too caught up in winning or losing. Just focus on improving your own game and having fun.

Golf is a game of balance: You need to find a balance between physical and mental toughness, between aggression and patience, between risk and reward. This is a lifelong journey, and there is no one right way to play golf. Just find what works for you and stick with it.

Golf is a game of grace: It is a beautiful game that should be played with a sense of elegance and style. Even if you're not the best golfer in the world, you can still appreciate the beauty of the game.

Golf can get complicated quickly, but I try my best to simplify it for my students. I believe that everyone can learn to enjoy the game of golf, regardless of their skill level. I focus on the fundamentals of the swing and help my students develop a consistent and repeatable stroke. I also teach them how to manage their emotions on the course and stay focused on the task at hand.

I, like many amateur golfers struggled with consistency on the course despite training through range time and the vehement study of the various Youtube gurus available. What Ive come to find out is that there really is no replacement for live coaching. Ive been with Calvin now for around 12 weeks and have seen a dramatic improvement in my game from short, fairway, and off the tee. What stood out about Calvin’s teaching method was that he helped improve what was already there rather than recreate a swing from zero. This proved to be immediately useful even after the first lesson. If youre in Southern California and are looking for a coach to improve your game in an efficient and friendly manner, its of my opinion you cant go wrong with Calvin Maranville.

    Frequently asked questions

Typicaly for the first lesson i will take some time to get to know the student before we start anything. This entails some background info about the students athletic background, past and current injuries and some info about their golf game. That way I have an idea of what level you currently play at if any so I can structure the best plan for the student.

Yes I do, please contact me to discuss pricing as I have many different options for age groups.

I got started from playing ever since i was a kid. I aventually got a job as a cart guy at a local golf course and worked my way into the industry. Ive always wanted to help people and had a passion for it. Golf has always been my first love and I can never let that go.

All skill types and age groups. I have taught all the way from a 3 year old beginner, all the way up to a scratch golfer. No matter what skill type you have, there's always room for improvement. Look at the pros, they still practice up to 8-11 hours a day!

I recently taught an old gentleman that has had many different lessons from different courses. He had recently moved from Dubai where he lived for a couple years. As most of you would know Dubai is a very up scale place with many rich people. The local course he golf lessons from actually recruited instructors from St. Andrews golf course. One of the most well know courses in the entire world. He told me after just one lesson, "your even better than my last instructor in Dubai where they recruited from St. Andrews". I was humbly surprised to hear that.

Don't be afraid to try someone new. You will be surprised how much not only the teachers expertise matters, but their personality and comfort that plays into finding someone that fits you.

    -What experience do you have.

    -What's your main goals.
