What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I will ask my students open ended questions to pin point exactly what they intend to improve in their golf game?
Goal setting is very important process in my lessons
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Nationally Recognized First Tee Coach (over 13 years)
Certified Golf Instructor with Bobby Clampett's IMPACT Zone.
Played competitve golf for All-Navy Hawaii Regional Golf team in 1994.

How did you get started teaching?
I was giving golf lessons to my younger nephews one day and realized how much I enjoyed watching them improve. Later in life when I retired form the Navy, I became a PGA apprentice teaching professional in Pasadena, CA. I then switched my golf career to working for The First Tee org. I am still amazed to see the looks on kids faces as they continued to improve their golf game.
Teaching adults is no different, I like to keep things simple!
What types of students have you worked with?
Mostly beginner to intermediate ages 7-24. But, I can teach anyone who is willing enough to work on their game after leaving the lesson.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I was interviewed by the Golf Channel for one of my students in The First Tee. She was playing at The First Tee Open at Pebble Beach with Billy Andrade.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would make sure they have enough experience to guide you in journey to improving your game. Do they have access to golf course range and playing time? What's included in the lesson?
Will they be able to help you become your own coach!
Teach you how to become increasingly better on your own?
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Exactly what they expect to achieve out of the lesson. They should be able to say things like. "I would like to improve my putting in two weeks" or I want to be able to hit my irons more consistent after one or two lessons. Students should not be paying instructors over and over again, it's too costly.
Become a student of the game, NOT a student who relies on continual golf instruction
