Having played across various levels past HS (junior college, University, & independent professional), I have over 10 years combined experience in the game as a player. I focus on arm health first, as I believe it’s the most important tool for pitchers. I help pitchers develop strong routines to promote and maintain success throughout their playing careers and into real life. In addition to creating strong habits, I think it’s crucial for pitchers to move better in order to throw better.

Using my 60 plus years, playing and teaching Baseball/Softball. I set a path to enjoy the process. My teaching provides the students with tried and proven methods. You won't be disappointed. Teaching the knowledge of how to play, demonstrate the techniques. Having the student participate, adjust habits that interfere with their progress. Set a course to follow and practice. Reveal in their performance.

Your Baseball Training questions, answered

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Lessons.com.

How much do private baseball lessons cost?

Private baseball lessons cost $50 to $75 per 30-minute lesson and $80 to $140 per 1-hour lesson. The price depends on your location, the instructor's experience and reputation, the student's age, and whether the lesson includes extras like a video analysis of the player's performance.

Many coaches offer lower prices per lesson if you purchase a package that includes 6 or 10 lessons. The average package prices are:

  • 6 pack of 30-minute lessons: $270 – $420
  • 6 pack of 1-hour lessons: $450 – $720
  • 10 pack of 30-minute lessons: $400 – $600
  • 10 pack of 1-hour lessons: $700 – $1,100

Are private baseball lessons worth it?

Private baseball lessons may be worth it if your child currently plays the sport, loves it, and has expressed an interest in improving their skills and performance. Private lessons can help your child advance their skills, develop good habits, and avoid forming bad habits.

Motivation and a drive to improve are key factors in whether or not the lessons will actually help your child. It's important for your child to practice in between private lessons.

Children who receive private baseball lessons are usually more likely to advance to playing at higher levels than children who only receive group coaching during regular team practice. However private lessons don't guarantee your child will play collegiate or professional baseball.

What is the difference between private and semi-private baseball lessons?

In a private baseball lesson, the athlete trains one-on-one with an instructor who tailors the lesson specifically to their needs and skill level. In a semi-private lesson, two athletes work together with one instructor. Semi-private lessons, also called partner lessons, typically cost 10% to 20% less than private lessons. However, because the trainer's attention is divided between the two athletes, the athletes don't get the same level of individualized instruction as they would in a private lesson.

What age should you start pitching lessons?

Baseball instructors generally recommend that children start pitching lessons at around 8 to 12 years old, though there are no age requirements or exact rules. Learning fundamental pitching skills early on can help your child avoid developing bad habits that will be difficult for them to break later.

However, your child should not start taking pitching lessons until they are comfortable throwing the ball as well as catching the ball one-handed.

We have had a few lesson with Kevin and we could not be happier. Our son is so excited to go to practice every week and enjoys telling his brother about the new moves and sports stories that Kevin shares during practice. We have already seen an improvement in the 4 lessons that we have had, I am looking forward to seeing the improvement after all 10 lessons. I would highly recommend hiring Kevin as your coach!

Cody is friendly and positive and great with my 13 yr old. He comes prepared and on time every week and is great with communication. I can see the improvements and excitement in my player after just a few sessions. Cody clearly knows his baseball and knows how to connect with the kids. Highly recommended.

Allen was my instructor while playing in high school. Thought me to hit on both sides and to slap hit. Made it seem simple and easy.
