“Double A” JC Horse Training

Training Lesson:

We take pride in training both horse and owner during these lessons. Whether you want your horse to learn a new skill, or you have a problem with something your horse is doing, we can help! In addition to fixing your horse’s unwanted behaviors, we will teach you our methods on how to correct your horse’s various behaviors and explain the rationale behind why we do what we do. A complete understanding of why our horses behave the way they do and the actions they respond to best not only strengthens the bond between horses and humans, but makes one a better horseperson. 

Trail Training:

We’re active trail junkies, and since we are located at the base of Mount Diablo and all of its open spaces, we’ve got the miles necessary to trail train horses of any experience. Whether your horse is afraid of water, jigs on the way home, or just can’t calm down on the trails, we can help make nature the relaxing experience it should be. 

Conditioning/Tune Up:

Horses take a lot of work, and a lot of time. We offer exercise riding for horses who need it, with the added benefit of a tune up of the horse’s existing skills included in the exercise ride that we provide. If your horse can’t be ridden, but you still want them to get out and get some exercise, we offer ground workouts as well at a discounted price. (this also comes with a tune up of ground manners!) 

Two Trainer Endevor:

Anna: Started riding at the age of 9, and soon after began volunteering to teach summer camps and horseback riding lessons. At 13 she transitioned into training horses, these experiences vary from colt starting, building foundations for green horses in reining and western horsemanship. She has trained under AQHA, NRHA, APHA, AHA trainers in california and Oregon. As well as has show experience in reining, horsemandship, trail along with 4 years of IHSA experiene competing at the collegiate level for the University of Oregon. 

Arianna: Started riding when she was 4 years old and began helping during riding lessons under a western trainer at the age of 10. She has experience working with riders across varying  ages, abilities and equestrian experience. When she was 12 she transitioned to focusing on training horses. She specializes in working with "problem" horses, addressing issues that range from trailer training, desensitivity (despooking), ground work, and tail training. As well as she has various show experience in team penning, trail and reining.

Our Rates 

Assessment: $15 one-time fee 

Prior to working with you and your horse during our first session, this evaluation will provide us with information on how owner and horse work together and the horse/owner’s experience and skill level. This will allow us to devise a plan of how to go about each client’s various goals. This includes a detailed follow-up email/phone call to discuss future plans, and what was deducted from the assessment. 

Training Lesson: $70/hour

Bundle Package Rates 

5 Sessions of Trails Training: $375 

A good trail horse isn’t made in a single day. The more “miles” a horse and rider have under their belt, the more confident they will be out in an open environment together. This bundle will help give you and your horse the training, experience and exposure to the various “spook factors” the world of trails has to throw at your horse and you. 

5 Sessions of Training Lessons: $325 

Want to learn how to train your horse yourself? We want to teach you! Our goal is for our clients to eventually be able to manage their horse’s behaviors and quirks without us. During the training sessions in these packages we will not only work with your horse, we will also teach you how to train your own horse with the principles we use to fix problems/teach new skills. 

5 Conditioning/Tune Up Rides: $125 

If you have a busy schedule and find that you want your horse to get out more, let us know! With this bundle, we can plan out a regular schedule to help exercise your horse and keep their minds sharp. 

5 Conditioning/Tune Up Round-pen: $60 

Just as with the riding bundle, if you have a busy schedule and find that you want your horse to get out more, let us know! With this bundle, we can plan out a regular schedule to help exercise your horse and keep their minds and manners sharp on the ground.
