Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Everyone learns differently. First off, I always introduce my self and tell my accomplishments in the Golf industry. Then I ask questions about my students and find out exactly what they are wanting to achieve from their lesson. Thats important!!!! And before lesson is over I make sure the student has an understanding and sometimes the lesson will run long if they arent clear on something
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $50 per hour.
How did you get started teaching?
Was very eager to work at a golf course as a teaching pro. I was fortunate enough to be hired on at Grand Lake golf Course. I work in the pro shop and give instruction when needed. Word of mouth about my lessons have been awesome this summer. I have had 60+ instruction hours in just this summer.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked will all students. I have taught children and adult beginners. I have helped ladies who have played for many years adjust some small things to their game like shorten their backswing, ball placement in their stance, etc. . I have students who come to me weekly to work on all aspects of the game. Ive also worked with scratch golfers who want to learn to draw/fade the ball.
I give hourly lessons on the practice range, and also playing lessons to work on things that dont occur on the driving rance like sidehill, downhill, up hill lies.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
One of my students that I have been working with this summer has shaved about 10 strokes off her game, has placed 2nd in our ladies championship, and won her flight in the ladies championship in denver! My greatest accomplishments are seeing my students succeed on the course.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Always have 2 things in mind that they want to learn from their lesson. I try to avoid more than two things to work on in one lesson, because i dont want to overload on information. Know evactly what you want to learn
