About
We are a laid back barn, we laugh, we make mistakes and we have fun. There are times for safety when we need to be serious and calm. Do you want to know how far you have come in your riding? We measure that. Do you want to canter? We will tell you what you need to do first and how long it will take. Are you a bit nervous about riding? We will work through that with patience. Do you have a hard time paying attention? We have some ideas to help. Your horse is acting up? We teach you how to troubleshoot problems with your horse. Do you have any special needs - no problem.
It is an amazing feeling to hop on a 1000 pound animal and have them do what you ask. Does that happen immediately? No, You need to earn respect from your horse by being a strong leader. Leadership skills will come naturally to those who want to work safely with horses. Other great skills horses teach us are gratitude, responsibility, organization, goal setting, hard work, consequences, and consistency
I enjoy working with people and utilizing the natural lessons that horses teach to help riders become more confident and learn to do things with power and intention. It is amazing to me to see kids who have stifling anxiety, work through it on horses. Another fun thing is students who are super goal oriented arrive with their check list and are driven to get to a certain goal by a deadline. I also enjoy working with women who did not have the opportunity to be around horses in their youth, but never stopped dreaming about them.
I have been a certified PATH International Instructor for over 10 years. Also Spirit Horse Certification for 9 years. I am also a PATH mentor. I have taught class in the Denver metro area the entire time I have been certified. I also compete in gymkhana and show activities myself.
I am on time, professional, prepared for class and consistent in my classes. I accept venmo, paypal, cash and check.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Upon our first contact, I like to find out the needs of the student, what type of class their on looking for, goals, things they would like to work on etc.
If it seems a good fit, then I will send liability forms, rules for riding here, and application. Once those are completed and signed, we can put the student on the schedule.
Classes are scheduled weekly at the same time on a consistent basis, weather permitting.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a PATH International Certified riding instructor since 2010.
Spirit Horse Certified since 2011.
I have been teaching students to ride for over 10 years. I have also been an athletic coach for many different sports.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I do not have a standard pricing system. Price depends on the student, if they want to be part of a group, if I need extra support staff for that student etc.
How did you get started teaching?
I have been a horse lover since, well forever. I started riding at Cameo Ranch in Arvada when I was 8. I hopped on any friends horse any time the opportunity presented itself. When I was old enough, I was a member of a drill team and then purchased my own horse as a teenager and did gymkhanas. Once that horse passed away, I pursued other life interests like having a family and horses were not a part of my life for many years. When my oldest daughter was a teenager, I started to volunteer at a horseback riding facility and decided to get certified to teach classes.
