About

A Level 3 CHA Certified Riding Instructor, Whitney has been teaching since 2014 and loves every moment of training horses and people! She works hard to help every horse and rider she meets. Whitney grew up riding since 2000. Since 2001, she trained under the vastly experienced hands of Anne Lloyd. Her first horse was an ex-school horse named Dakota that she trained to jump. They did a lot of fun shows, then she bought a young TB off the track and trained her to 3’6” while going to school and working. She then bought a warmblood thoroughbred cross and has trained him through 3'9, with hope's of taking him all the way to grand prix. Since April 2018, Whitney has started her own business as an instructor and is excited to build her teaching career. Please email if you are interested [email protected]

I enjoy riding and training horses in the jobs they want. I enjoy teaching students how to ride and getting them to the goal they want to achieve. The best part is watching how people progress with their horse, It is fun to see the relationship between horse and their person.

Whitney is an excellent trainer! I’ve been with her for about 5 years now and I wouldn’t go to anyone else! Safety is her biggest thing and she doesn’t waiver from it! She had already taught me so much. She is currently training my horse and he is doing excellent! I would recommend Whitney to anyone who is looking to start riding or continue to ride!!!

Whitney is a natural - she is calm, positive, patient, and instills confidence. Whitneys expert eye pinpoints not only my weak points (kindly!) but also each horses individual traits that require specific handling.
As an older, novice rider, she never overwhelmed me with too many adjustments to seat, hands, leg, but methodically built me up, so that over time I could feel proper alignment. Over the years, Ive listened as other trainers interact with their students, and Im struck by the difference a gifted and empathetic coach like Whitney makes in my enjoyment of riding.

Whitney always tells me specifically what to do differently with my body and voice. She is always encouraging and never is dismissive or rude. She teaches from a perspective of respect - for the rider and the horse. have seen her teach adults, teens, and children - she adapts to each different student easily. I highly recommend her!

Whitney takes a lot of pride in what she does and she wants her student to succeed with their horsy dreams. She is fantastic about getting you out of your comfort zone and doing what you need to do to better yourself and your equine partner. Whether you need training rides, lessons (on your horse or one of her amazing lesson horses), or if you need to get back in the saddle because you lost your personal horse, she will work to make sure it gets done.

Whitney at White Blaze Equestrian is a phenomenal trainer and riding instructor. She has a natural talent around horses and can see the most subtle details that make the biggest positive changes for both horse and rider. I can not recommend Whitney and her amazing skills enough as a trainer!

I began training with Whitney Brandhorst in 2015 after a 25+ year hiatus from regular riding. She has helped me with building up my skills and confidence. I’ve worked with other trainers, and I haven’t found anyone as good. Whitney sees the details and explains very well how best I can improve my riding.

    Frequently asked questions

I pride myself in making great horse and rider matches. All riders go through the same evaluation lesson when starting. We will start by tacking up the horse so I can see if you know how to tack. If you dont, that's ok, we will go through that process until we get it. We will next head to the arena for some riding. I have a checklist that I go through to see what level you are at. After that we head back to the rail and untack and make sure all the untacking is understood. Once we are done with the evaluation lesson, we will then figure out if you are able to move to a group (people of like ages and abilities). We can also do privates.

I am CHA level 3 certified. I am working to level 4.

    Lessons are $55/ student

I grew up riding and have always loved it. I love sharing my experiences and helping others learn how to ride and enjoy riding as much as I do.

I have worked with all levels of students from first rides all up to 3'6 jumpers and level 2 dressage.
