About
Jakes Academy is led by Doug Wherry who has had a passionate affair with golf since his youth. He has competed and coached for over 35 years, directing his energy towards passing on golf’s traditions, ethics and joy to those that are passionate about golf. His most recent focus has been on training junior golfers that want to be competitive through Jake’s Academy and Jake’s Place which provides financial support to kids that need help.
Doug has been mentored in golf and life by some of the finest people surrounding the game including Arnold Palmer, Lee Trevino, Jake Warde, Warren Smith, Bill Eschenbrenner, Jim Loehr, Bob Proctor, Kendal Yonomoto and Doctor Richard Olshock.
Doug has been at the forefront of training golf for the past two decades. His innovative approach and dedication to simplifying golf’s complexities has helped him to produce some of the finest golf talent in the US. His competitive junior players have earned the highest playing honors and many have moved on to competitive ranks in collegiate and professional golf.

1/2 hour free consultation followed with a comprehensive plan to create the best learning situation for the client based on time, dedication and finances.

25 years experience in mental training.
20 years education in golf biomechanics and movement training.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing depends on students needs. Falls somewhere between $35 and $150 per session.
