About

I have been in the horse industry for over 20 years! I began with learning how to ride, showing, and owning horses of my own. I am passionate about the education of horses, horseback riding, and care of them. I am here to offer you an experience that will give you the opportunity to learn horsemanship. The facility I have my horse at offers indoor and outdoor arenas for all seasons and types of weather.

    Frequently asked questions

I learn what your goals are and I create a step by step plan to help you achieve your goals and make new ones.
Additionally, for lessons I have my students help groom the horse, I tack up and pick feet. Then we go through our lesson learning proper form/equitation. I find it is helpful for the student to know what to look for from the horse too. With beginners I like to have my students on a lunge line until I and the student feel like they are ready to move forward without one.
Lastly, with my students I like to also help them work on building a relationship with the horse by lunging the horse out themselves and learning how to interact with a horse! It is good to know the do's and do not's as well which I teach. Boundaries are important for student and horse.

I have been taking English lessons for over 20 years and have a well versed background with western style riding. I have showed on and off which helps with learning a competitive side of riding. I have my own horse and have owned others prior which allows for me to know horsemanship, the care and medical side of things.

I have found I love sharing my passions with others! Thus, I want to teach my community members how to build their skill set and confidence with horses.

I have worked with adults and younger kids. Additionally I will teach as young as 10 years old.

When looking for a lesson teacher I find it is incredibly important that you get along with your teacher! Making sure the teacher is capable of meeting your goals but also motivating you to make new successes in your life!

As someone who has taken lessons in the past for so long, here are things I wanted to know:

    1. Hourly rate: I grew up in a home where we were on a budget so it was nice to find a teacher willing to work with us and still train me to be the best rider I could be.
    2. Hours/ flexibility: It is extremely important to find a coach who can work with your schedule even if it needs to change. I took lessons through out 1st grade - senior year college. My schedule changed based on school and other sports I was apart of. Finding a coach who can work with your schedule is extremely important.
    3. Passion: what is their passion when it comes to horses? Finding a coach who shares your passion or who can help grow your passion for horses is something I found helped me from a young age to where I am at today!
