I am the owner and head instructor for TEC Equestrian in Franktown, CO. I am a certified instructor with the Certified Horsemanship Association in Level 2 English and Western with jumping certification. I teach riders of all ages and riding levels. Whether you are signing your kid up for their first lesson or need some help preparing for your next show I am here to help and coach you along the way. As of right now, I do not have any lesson horses so I will have to come to you to teach you on your horse or horses, but I am passionate about helping you achieve your goals and dreams in the saddle. I am also available to teach riding clinics.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When I am introduced to a new student I first like to meet with the student and/or their parents to get to know them and understand what their riding experience is (if any). As well as discuss what the students goals are. Whether it is to compete, to gain confidence in the saddle, or just wants to learn to ride and more about horses.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was born and raised around horses. I have competed locally and nationally at AQHA and 4-H horse shows in Hunter/jumper classes and hunt seat on the flat classes, and I compete in Ranch Sorting events. I have an Associates degree in Equine Science and Equine Training and Management from Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne, WY. Where I gained experience training young or green horses. I also competed on the IHSA equestrian team and horse judging team there. I am certified through the Certified Horsemanship Association.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $65 for private lessons and $50 per rider/per lesson for group lessons.
How did you get started teaching?
I first got started teaching riding professionally through my fundamentals of teaching riding class at Laramie County Community College where I completed an initial certification clinic, and I have taught lessons some at summer camps and to my young family members. I have been teaching riding lessons part time through The Urban Farm in Denver since 2019.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with beginner to intermediate riders who ride at summer camp as well as riders at Vista Verde Guest Ranch in Clark, CO. I have also taught lessons to green adult riders in Cheyenne, Wy who come for a Saturday class at Laramie County Community College. As well as a variety of students at The Urban Farm in Denver.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someone who puts your safety and the horse's wellbeing first, and truly believes in you and your goals for what you what to accomplish with your riding. You shouldn't look for someone who only wants you to win at competitions because it will boast their reputation as an instructor. You should also look for an instructor who will be there to encourage your riding and help you grow as a confident rider and person!
