Welcome to Mindful Equine Denver! We specialize in helping connect you and your horse through the use of mindfulness and self-awareness. Whether your goals are comfort or competition we are here to help guide you along your journey. Mindful Equine offers riding lessons and training for all levels of equestrian enthusiasts. In addition, we provide services ranging from mindfulness coaching & yoga with certified instructors, to equine therapy and clinics given by experts in their fields.
Our staff are highly knowledgeable and bring backgrounds from many disciplines including equitation, dressage, hunter/jumpers, polo, and the realm of yoga & marriage/family counseling.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We generally onboard new clients with a 90 minute evaluation lesson in which you and your coach discuss you riding background, goals, experiences and much more. We also do an evaluation ride on one of our school horses and then spend the rest of the time setting up our coaching relationship.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
essica is the owner and founder of Mindful Equine. With 25 years of riding experience and over 10 years of professional experience, Jessica brings background from a variety of disciplines including hunters, jumpers, equitation and dressage, as well as polo. She received her Bachelor's in Animal Science at Cornell University in 2010 and has a Master's Degree from Cornell in Animal Husbandry. During her time as a professional Jessica has has the privilege to work with top equestrians including USET Coach Bernie Traurig and Olympic Medalist Colin McIntosh. In 2012 and 2013, Jessica helped lead the team at California Riding Academy to earn the Northern California High Point Trainer Award.
Jessica's philosophy centers around building relationships between horse, rider, and trainer and focuses on providing all her riders with excellent foundational skills that can be transferred to any discipline. She is a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher and believes strongly in integrating mindfulness, breath work, and body awareness into her coaching. In addition to her equestrian experience, Jessica has ten years of curriculum design and instructional experience and brings her background in public education to the riding arena.

Evaluation Lessons - 90 minutes - $60
One Hour Private Lesson - 60 minutes- $50

How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching riding lessons st age 15 in New York where I worked for a farm that re-trained Thoroughbreds off the track. The rest is history! I also worked as a high school classroom teacher from 2010-2018 in California and Denver.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with everyone from 4 year olds during their first pony ride, to high level performance riders seeking top prizes on the “A” show circuit. We welcome all riders!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We are so excited to have launched our Women’s Empowerment Weekends this summer! We spend three days finding our inner power and connecting with each other and our order more information can be found on our website!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Take the time to sit with the instructor and make sure your philosophy about riding and horses ligns up. Also be clear about your scheduling needs and your goals to make sure it is a good match!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
