Received the Army Commendation Medal for German language instruction. One of only three non-native language instructors approved by the Defense Language Institute (DLi) to teach German. Certified by DLI as a German and Italian linguist. Lived eleven years in Germany and eight years in Italy.
BS in History & Education from William & Mary in Virginia. MA in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Northern Colorado.
Served as a non-denominational missionary to American soldiers and their families in Italy from 2006 to 2012 with Cadence, International. Ordained by the Conservative Churches of Virginia.
Taught horseback riding and team driving at Triple-R Ranch in Chesapeake, Virginia, from 1995 through 2006. Skilled with Natural Horsemanship techniques. Certified by the Certified Horsemanship Association as a Level 3 Instructor (Level 4 rider).
