Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We start the lesson with grooming and checking the horse over for any injuries or inflammation. We discuss horse behavior and body language. When we move to riding we start bareback so we build strength and balance without aids.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Sarah acquired her four year degree in Equine Science from Colorado State. Prior to finishing her degree she worked and managed for various types of horse and age related business for over 10 years all across the country.
She grew up riding English with Tennessee Walkers, but in her teens after a severe back injury switched to western riding and ranch work.
Sarah has also worked with several rescues and hippo therapy facilities in the past and is passionate about facilitating a strong horse/human relationship.

How did you get started teaching?
Sarah started teaching lessons at several different guest ranches in the past. This offered a wide variety of students, issues, and backgrounds to work with really helping Sarah to build her strategies and techniques.
What types of students have you worked with?
Sarah has had students raging in age from 3 yrs old and over, children to seniors, plus having experience with physically disabled and mentally delayed. She has ample experience working with low confidence and/or self-esteem students.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Be ready to learn about the entire horse, not just riding on the back of one.
