About

We teach so much more than horse riding. We teach horsemanship, life lessons, and of course horse riding. Our program focuses exclusively on developing riders from the first time around horses through ready to buy a horse and start competing seriously, at which point we match you with the best fit program for your goals and then watch and cheers from the sidelines as you grow further. If your goals are just to learn to ride or to have a back yard horse one day, we are here for that too and our horsemanship classes will get you ready to be able to look after a horse in your back yard too. We have programs from age 3 on up to 60+.

Watching our students fall in love with horses and learn and grow as riders, humans and horsemen/women makes me so fulfilled. It reminds me why I stayed with horses all this time. After 40 years of riding and competing around the country, it is super easy to loose sight of what initially made me fall in love with these beautiful creatures and it made me loose sight of why i ride. Starting this program changed all that for me!

    Frequently asked questions

Our first lesson is a 1 hour introduction or evaluation lesson depending on your experience. We require private lessons to get you up and running and we then find the perfect group for you to join or add if you so desire. We teach horsemanship instead of just riding, which means we offer lots of learning opportunities each week.
We are a team of three instructors I have been riding for nearly 40 years and have competed all over the country in show jumping. Janet, our head instructor, ran a professional show program for over 20 years with students and horses competing all over the country in hunters and jumpers. Suzannah had a long career as a 3 day eventer and then worked as a professional groom and rider for a well respected dressage program. In addition to this, we also have a professional dressage program working out of our facility too
We work on a tuition basis that covers not just riding lessons, but also horsemanship classes, rider fitness classes, parent education and tacking and grooming clinics. All in there is up to 5 learning opportunities to attend each week all for the same price.
I am the owner of the business but do not teach the lessons. I started this business as I have seen a massive hole develop in todays riding programs, show programs are dropping lesson programs because they are too expensive to run and horsemanship is no longer being taught, just winning. I wanted to fill both of those holes, develop well rounded horsemen and horsewomen and offer a place to learn to ride with the caliber of instruction found only in a professional show program. I got into horses when my dad made a terrible mistake and took me to pet the horses across the highway after dinner and someone let me sit on her horse and led me around. I was hooked from that moment.
Everyone from toddlers to grandmas who want to learn to ride. People getting back into the saddle after a break or an injury or illness.
The same event that happens every week - watching our students fall in love with horses over and over again
Take a look at the care of the horses, are they well fed with healthy coats? Are their pens and water clean or are they standing ankle deep? Does the facility look safe and well kept? Does the instructor have a good reputation? What is their riding and competing history? Have they actually done what they say they teach? Is the school insured? Is the school affiliated and approved by a national governing body which requires strict adherence to horse welfare and instructor quality?
In the early days, that question is hard, you don’t know what you want or need beyond wanting to learn to ride!
