About
I have worked with horses for over 20 years, and have experience with lots of different types of horses and riding, including dressage, eventing, hunters, endurance, trail, and pleasure. I carry liability insurance and believe in making lessons and training safe, fun, and rewarding to both horse and rider, with your goals in mind. I have a gentle yet confident approach, and work on concepts and techniques that you can understand and will help your horse move happily and freely, while making you a more confident and competent rider.
I love watching students' faces light up when a new concept clicks, or they canter or jump for the first time, or they just gave a really good time with the horses. Horses are my passion and I love helping people in their progress and love of riding.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to start with an email to assess your needs, then schedule an evaluation lesson to see if we are a good fit for each other.
Be prepared by wearing closed toe shoes or boots with a low heel, and also you'll need a horse riding helmet. I have one you can use the first time or two, but eventually you'll want your own that is properly fitted to your head.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 20 years experience with horses, and have trained under industry professionals such as Brian and Lisa Sabo, Rochelle Costanza, KC Parkins-Kyle, and Katy Robinson.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Lessons are $80/session (approx. 45 minutes), including the use of a school horse. Semi-private and group lessons are available depending on rider abilities.
Training prices vary.
What types of students have you worked with?
Beginners who haven't been around horses at all, through advanced students who are looking to hone their skills.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someone who is knowledgeable, but also who you get along with! Someone who can impart the knowledge and skills you're looking for in down to earth terms that you can understand and implement.
Also someone who understands the needs of the horse as well as the rider, and is a compassionate and gentle trainer.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are my personal goals with riding?
Do I want to ride for pleasure, fitness, competition, or a combination of all?
Do I want to be competent in all areas of horsemanship, including grooming, horse care and management, and proper riding?
