First and foremost, every student should be taught with safety in mind. Secondly, they should have fun while they are at the barn, in the ring and with the horses. Even the most focused competitor should be doing it because they LOVE TO, not because they feel they HAVE TO. Lastly, every student should walk away feeling that they learned something new or that they are a step closer to mastering a skill they have been working on. Those three things are the key to a happy and successful rider. Riding is and can be for everyone, whether riding just for pleasure, or if you have your sights set on riding competitively.
