Caitlin is very knowledgeable and patient! I’ve been on many trail rides in the past but this is something completely different: learning the horse as the horse learns you. I have been working on Woody and have gained the confidence to ride a horse safely. I’m learning so much more than I ever imagined about horseback riding (Western) and am excited about continuing my lessons. I highly recommend Caitlin and Kasheta Farms!

    Frequently asked questions

New students will learn how to "tack" the horse (grooming, saddling, bridling), make the horse stop (2 different ways), how to make a horse move out at all three gaits (walk, trot, and canter/lope), what to do in emergency situations, how to steer left, right and backwards (direct reigning), and how to read a horse's body language and communicate effectively.

Moving through the program, students will learn how to control the horse's shoulders/hindquarters, how to neck reign, rollbacks, collection, and how to stop without using the reigns. Once students complete the intermediate riding skills with confidence, trail riding or advanced riding is available.

I teach, train, and practice the world famous Clinton Anderson "Method."

Lessons begin at $75 per hour. Minimum lesson time: 60 minutes. Maximum lesson time: 2 hours. Lessons flexibility is available - for example: a brother and sister both want to learn how to ride so a 90 minute lesson is booked for $115. Sister rides for 45 minutes and brother rides for 45 minutes.

I have worked with military veterans, children as young as 12 through adults as old as 70, retirees looking to pick up a new hobby, young adults looking for riding refreshers, and children/adults who have never been on a horse before!
