Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
With new students I prefer working from the putting green out to chipping, iron shots and gradually to fairway woods and the driver. This method produces less frustration and quicker confidence. For more advanced players WE discuss what they need to work on and concentrate on things to give them confidence.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Golf Professional; Professional Golf Instructor and Custom Club Fitter and Demo Rep.
(Coached High School Golf 1971-1983 Broward Cty.)
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I negotiate my lesson costs for single lessons, group lessons, and "4 lesson packages".
How did you get started teaching?
I played high school and college golf and had the confidence in my own game to play professionally and an ability to analyze and instruct others.
What types of students have you worked with?
Age 5 to adults. Male and female. Small group lessons can be arranged.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have worked with Mizuno, Titleist and Cobra doing demos and custom club fitting since 1989 at exclusive country clubs in Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. I was Custom Club Fitter of the Year for Mizuno in 2002. (Number 1 in the Country celebrated at Pebble Beach Country Club)
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone who has a pleasant personality and not a strict disciplinarian who knows how to ANALYZE AND CORRECT golf swings. I believe that one must develop a golf swing that one is comfortable with and can repeat to enjoy the game AND HAVE FUN!!!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What is your personal interest? Fun, progress and competition if so desired.....with me, it's all of the above.
