I absolutely love being able to give back to the future generations. My favorite thing to witness within the game is the personal growth that kids have from year to year with the proper guidance. I got into coaching to directly invest in the next generation, through teaching the beautiful game of baseball. When I get together to work with a student-athlete, they will learn, but they will also have fun while doing so. The game ultimately is just that, a game, and it should be fun....

Training with Coach Joe isn’t for the half-committed. When you step into a session with me, expect high-intensity, no-excuses, and zero wasted reps. Every drill has a purpose. Every minute is designed to make you faster, stronger, smarter, and mentally unshakable. I push athletes — male and female, all sports, all levels — to go beyond their comfort zone, because that’s where the real growth happens. You’ll sweat, you’ll struggle, and you’ll be challenged in ways you didn’t think possible… but you’ll also see undeniable, proven results that speak for themselves. Athletes leave my sessions not just better at their sport — but more confident,

Your Baseball Training questions, answered

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Lessons.com.

How much do private baseball lessons cost?

Private baseball lessons cost $50 to $75 per 30-minute lesson and $80 to $140 per 1-hour lesson. The price depends on your location, the instructor's experience and reputation, the student's age, and whether the lesson includes extras like a video analysis of the player's performance.

Many coaches offer lower prices per lesson if you purchase a package that includes 6 or 10 lessons. The average package prices are:

  • 6 pack of 30-minute lessons: $270 – $420
  • 6 pack of 1-hour lessons: $450 – $720
  • 10 pack of 30-minute lessons: $400 – $600
  • 10 pack of 1-hour lessons: $700 – $1,100

Are private baseball lessons worth it?

Private baseball lessons may be worth it if your child currently plays the sport, loves it, and has expressed an interest in improving their skills and performance. Private lessons can help your child advance their skills, develop good habits, and avoid forming bad habits.

Motivation and a drive to improve are key factors in whether or not the lessons will actually help your child. It's important for your child to practice in between private lessons.

Children who receive private baseball lessons are usually more likely to advance to playing at higher levels than children who only receive group coaching during regular team practice. However private lessons don't guarantee your child will play collegiate or professional baseball.

What is the difference between private and semi-private baseball lessons?

In a private baseball lesson, the athlete trains one-on-one with an instructor who tailors the lesson specifically to their needs and skill level. In a semi-private lesson, two athletes work together with one instructor. Semi-private lessons, also called partner lessons, typically cost 10% to 20% less than private lessons. However, because the trainer's attention is divided between the two athletes, the athletes don't get the same level of individualized instruction as they would in a private lesson.

What age should you start pitching lessons?

Baseball instructors generally recommend that children start pitching lessons at around 8 to 12 years old, though there are no age requirements or exact rules. Learning fundamental pitching skills early on can help your child avoid developing bad habits that will be difficult for them to break later.

However, your child should not start taking pitching lessons until they are comfortable throwing the ball as well as catching the ball one-handed.

Joel, worked with me while we were still in college believe it or not. Even as a young adult close to 20 yrs ago, he was incredibly patient & broke things down even more effectively than the team coaches. His passion for the game of baseball is contagious! Would highly recommend his work for any coach, parent, or player looking to advance their skills from both a coaching and playing perspective.

Jeff is very cooperative and an excellent Coach who listens to his clients. He is also a great encourager. He knows this game inside and out and what skills are necessary for targeting areas that need the most work. He is giving our Grandson tools that will be invaluable as he is molded into a better player. We are feeling blessed to have found him and look forward to watching our Grandson progress into a higher level of skill and proficiency while he continues to be passionate about this game!
