Javis Dad L. says, "Good morning Coach. I just wanted to reach out before the day gets busy and thank you for everything you’ve done for my kids. Since their mother and I split a couple of years ago, they’ve really been searching for a positive outlet, and I truly believe we found that with you and APEX. The way you teach, motivate, and genuinely care about their development—both as athletes and as young people—means more to me than you know. I’m grateful they have a coach who pushes them, believes in them, and gives them structure and confidence. Thank you again for taking my kids under your wing. APEX has been a blessing for our family." Read more

Hello, my name is Brandon Henson from Columbus Ohio and moved down to Florida after college. I played 5 years in college from 2017-2021. Played two years at a Juco named Sinclair CC before playing three years at VCU in Richmond VA. I had a batting average above .300, four out of the five years in college, I broke the career home run record at Sinclair CC and I started every year in college, although injures played a big part in my college career. My approach to training a baseball player seems to be unique, I don’t just give you a swing, my goal is to help you find your swing not mine or anyone else’s. We may go through a cycle of trial an

Hi! I’m Harry, and have been playing basketball since i was 10 years old. I played for Impact academy through high school aside and against players like Malachi Wideman, Brion Whitley, Antonio Blakney, Kevin Knox, and more! They’ve become more successful the sport than I have, but I have the experience playing with people from the bottom to NBA Level talent. As a point guard/shooting guard my knowledge of the game has always been my best attribute. Training with me isn’t easy, but it’s definetly fun! If you want to challenge yourself & see results every week, you call me coach!

Your Baseball Training questions, answered

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Lessons.com.

How much do private baseball lessons cost?

Private baseball lessons cost $50 to $75 per 30-minute lesson and $80 to $140 per 1-hour lesson. The price depends on your location, the instructor's experience and reputation, the student's age, and whether the lesson includes extras like a video analysis of the player's performance.

Many coaches offer lower prices per lesson if you purchase a package that includes 6 or 10 lessons. The average package prices are:

  • 6 pack of 30-minute lessons: $270 – $420
  • 6 pack of 1-hour lessons: $450 – $720
  • 10 pack of 30-minute lessons: $400 – $600
  • 10 pack of 1-hour lessons: $700 – $1,100

Are private baseball lessons worth it?

Private baseball lessons may be worth it if your child currently plays the sport, loves it, and has expressed an interest in improving their skills and performance. Private lessons can help your child advance their skills, develop good habits, and avoid forming bad habits.

Motivation and a drive to improve are key factors in whether or not the lessons will actually help your child. It's important for your child to practice in between private lessons.

Children who receive private baseball lessons are usually more likely to advance to playing at higher levels than children who only receive group coaching during regular team practice. However private lessons don't guarantee your child will play collegiate or professional baseball.

What is the difference between private and semi-private baseball lessons?

In a private baseball lesson, the athlete trains one-on-one with an instructor who tailors the lesson specifically to their needs and skill level. In a semi-private lesson, two athletes work together with one instructor. Semi-private lessons, also called partner lessons, typically cost 10% to 20% less than private lessons. However, because the trainer's attention is divided between the two athletes, the athletes don't get the same level of individualized instruction as they would in a private lesson.

What age should you start pitching lessons?

Baseball instructors generally recommend that children start pitching lessons at around 8 to 12 years old, though there are no age requirements or exact rules. Learning fundamental pitching skills early on can help your child avoid developing bad habits that will be difficult for them to break later.

However, your child should not start taking pitching lessons until they are comfortable throwing the ball as well as catching the ball one-handed.

Pushed to Rise – Built for Varsity Competition My daughter entered high school at 14 already training with purpose, and Apex has taken her athletic development to another level. She stepped straight into varsity volleyball and varsity basketball, and now she’s competing in track—not because it was easy, but because her coach continues to push her to rise. That constant push has made all the difference. Her strength, speed, conditioning, and mental toughness have grown dramatically. She moves with confidence, competes with intensity, and carries herself like a true varsity athlete across every sport she plays. What stands out most is how well her training translates. The same fundamentals—explosiveness, body control, and resilience—show up whether she’s on the court, on the track, or in practice. Apex didn’t just prepare her physically; it prepared her mentally to compete, to accept challenges, and to thrive under pressure. Watching her embrace hard work and continue to expand her athletic range has been incredible. Apex has given her the tools, the discipline, and the belief that she belongs at the highest level—and she proves it every time she steps onto the floor or track. This is real development. Real results. Real confidence.
