About

Through my experiences, I will help teach young athletes the game of baseball. I will provide basic baseball fundamentals. If the athlete already knows the fundamentals, I will help them achieve whatever their goals are; to throw harder, have efficient and proper mechanics, be explosive, improve arm strength, create an arm care routine, to perform better, etc.

Whatever they need I can definitely help.

I’ve been playing baseball since I was about 4 years old. Born and raised in Homestead, Florida. South Florida is a powerhouse for developing high school baseball players into future college and professional baseball products.

I have Collegiate Baseball Experience (Pitched in 2019 NAIA World Series Championship)

St. Thomas University has made back to back World Series appearances in 2018 & 2019. (Preseason ranking at 2nd in nation, throughout the years stayed at 6th in the nation)(2019 NAIA World Series Runner Up)

I attended South Dade Senior High which was a powerhouse in South Florida baseball. (Team was ranked in a preseason poll at 19th in the country in 2016)(Team was ranked 2nd in the nation at one point thoughout the year for as long as 2 months) (2014 8A State Champions)(Back to back to back 3x district champions)

I love giving back to the community. When I was little I was not fortunate enough to have the financial funds to have access for good coaches, travel baseball, better leagues, and other resources or equipment some of my fellow teammates had. I never got to play on the best teams or have the best coach. But I used this deficit as a chip on my shoulder to be the best I can be. So now I want to help those kids that are in my same shoes, that don’t have all of the resources or the financial stability, but just want to learn the great game of baseball and be the very best that they can be.

I first heard about Rivo Athletics through a friend and they told me Joel was amazing. Having 3 very energetic boys I knew I had to put them in a sport where they could channel that energy and their old coach was not doing the best job. I can definitely attest that Joel has been the best coach for my kids, they improve so much and have so much fun, he is great with kids and has such a positive attitude! We love Joel and I will always recommend him. The best for his low prices!

    Frequently asked questions

First I would like to begin with introducing ourselves and getting to know each other. If you have trust in your coach/trainer you will be more willing to listen and understand the drills and practice rather than just going through the motions. Following the introduction, I would like to ask the parent or the player what exactly are their specific goals they want to reach and what the time frame is for them to reach their goals. Goals are so important in not only baseball but in life. After we set our goals, we will set a flexible but determined schedule on what we will do every session to help you reach your goal within the time frame you need it by. Goals can vary from throwing harder, getting more explosive, improving pitching mechanics, becoming more flexible, etc.

I have been a student of the game all of my life. Played against and with a handful of professial baseball players. I played high school baseball at an elite high school and am now currently playing college baseball at one of the top NAIA baseball schools in the nation. My school has gone to back to back NAIA World Series in 2018 and 2019. We were one win shy of being National Champions as we were runner ups in the NAIA Championship.

$70/ 1 hr or $35/ 30 min. We can always work something out and if anything we can discuss a payment plan or a package if necessary.

Helped players at my college, I have helped current and old teammates, I went back to my high school and have helped their current baseball team whether it was pitching, hitting, infield or outfield, catching, etc. Being a student of the game you never stop learning and if I have the opportunity to share some type of knowledge to help someone reach their fullest potential I will express my beliefs.

All ages, but mainly kids going into high school or kids going into college. But I will accept any challenge.

Pitching in the 2019 NAIA World Series Championship game infront of so many fans along side my teammates who are now my brothers for life.

Baseball is an evolving sport, some coaches are too old fashioned meaning they are not as advanced in drills or exercises that can prevent injury and help gain endurance and strength.

Find someone with baseball experience, not just some guy who reads out of a book. Yes it helps! But nothing compares to playing the game and experiencing those moments.

Find a coach that enjoys what he does and isn’t there just to yell at your kid.

Also, not everything works for everyone. A coach has to be adaptive to your kid or student. Somethings work on one player but not another. Baseball is a game of adjustments so you will have to make an adjustment as a coach sometimes.

What is it that they want to get better at?

    what their goals are?

what is the time frame they want their goals reached by?

how they may want to reach their goals?
