About
PLEASE CALL OR TEXT (727)902- 5019 INSTEAD OF RESPONDING THROUGH HERE. Hi, my name is Sherette Peltz and I'm one of the top trainers in Pinellas County and work primarily out of Calypso Bay Stables ( calypsobaystables.net ). I have 22 yrs experience with horses and started riding English at age 8. My instructor Pam Lynn at the time came to give me a lesson and discovered I had taught my horse Buddy to jump. It was then decided I'd start hunter, hunter/ jumper lessons. By the time I was 10 years old I was jumping in competitions at Marion Saddle Club, Hits, Florida Horse Park, PCHA and competing in western speed events such as team penning where I also competed in Nationals In texas. I did very well in the show circuit and continued to pursue my riding. At age 18, I started training horses and schooling them over fences as well as working thoroughbreds on the track. I've also managed and worked at some of Florida's top farms. Soon after, I began riding for and under the instruction of Dennis Stickly who Nuno Oliveira quotes as "one of the most effective riders he's ever seen". It was a privilege to have the instruction of Mr. Stickly and it is the things he taught me that have help made me successful today. Over the years I’ve worked with some of Florida’s Thoroughbred Farms retraining and giving the horses a chance to excel in a different spot light, show jumping. Some went off to be pre green hunter champions, children’s show horses, and on up to competing in Grand Prix level show circuits. I am a very skilled and effective rider. My ability and strong drive to teach horses led me to me to want to teach others as an instructor. I teach from the first beginner lesson through to the intermediate/ advanced rider. I specialize in hunter equitation on the flat, hunter/ jumper and jumper, also western speed events and just simply riding for pleasure. My abilities and experience do not stop as a trainer. I was a Veterinary Technician at the University of Florida Large Animal Hospital. Not only did I work with our equine friends but also many other large animal species. During the course of one spring at Live Oak Stud I foaled over 15 foals, and had the joy of starting them in their first few days. Whether I'm teaching you or your horse, I'll strive for you to reach your full potential in a fun and safe manner. We have lesson horses available if you do not have a horse of your own.
