I'm an adult learner and began working with her to improve both my Russian and German, in different ways - I was conversational in Russian and looking to become fluent as well as learn more vocabulary and grammar rules, and I was fluent in German but wanted to advance my vocabulary and have someone to practice and keep up my skill with. Tatiana split my lessons into half Russian, half German and always finds new, creative resources to help me. She is excellent at balancing my different needs with each language and customizing her lessons. We do a huge variety of exercises so it's always engaging! She is very patient as I ask many questions, ask her to repeat things, slowly work my way through something. And she's very flexible and openminded, always happy to try something new that I find or switch up our lessons in a certain way. She's especially great at strategically building upon concepts so everything makes sense and fits together, and I don't get overwhelmed. Tatiana is very supportive and is great at observing my comprehension and knowing when to pivot or review something. She goes above and beyond by helping me with resources I find on my own, too - advising me on various workbooks I was looking at, the work I was doing on my own with apps or other content, etc. I so appreciate her flexibility, timeliness and proactive communication. And she is so friendly, with a great sense of humor - she truly makes learning fun! She also makes sure to give me the context behind rules and concepts, teaches me about the culture, and connects the language to the culture. Tatiana is thorough, strategic and supportive. The best part is not only that I feel much more comfortable and that I've improved, but that my friends and family have noticed my improvement, too! I HIGHLY recommend Tatiana.
