My daughter has been riding with Brandy for about 8 months now. She's been consistently instructed not only on her riding, but also on the care for her horse and the equipment. It has been amazing to watch her confidence and ability grow under tutelage. I highly recommend her.

Brandy is an excellent trainer. She has a broad knowledge of several different disciplines (jumpers, hunters, dressage, western, saddle seat). This helps her to have a keen eye and ability to effectively communicate with her riders. Brandy does not yell at you continuously about the same issue... instead she identifies the issue and gives you ideas and explanations on how to improve and correct your riding. Brandy is professional, friendly, easy to work with, and helps you to achieve your goals for you and your horse in a safe atmosphere.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

All lessons are about an hour start to finish.  All students also learn to tack and untack their own horses (this can be done for you at no charge).  Students are taught, at all riding levels, how to ride different horse types.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am USHJA Certified trainer.I have been studing the art of riding for most of my life  I turned proffessional in 2001.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Semi private lessons are $55 or 6/$300, private lessons are $85 or 6/$450

How did you get started teaching?

Since I was young, there was nothing else I wanted to do but work with horses.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with all types of students from the very young to the finely aged.  I have worked with special needs students as well, but please let me know if there are any special needs.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I have trained riders through the Grand Prix level.  Many of my students show at all levels.  We have just formed a middle and high school riding team that has been fun and informative for the school aged riders.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Speak with the trainer and make sure its a good fit.  Look at the care of the horses and if something seems not right, its probably not.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

This sport can be costly and is harder than one may think.  Be sure you are ready to handle the physical ability.  Don't set goals higher than your budget, riding can be fun weekly and without showing (which can be more costly) as well.
